Newcastle Manager Situation

When he took over Inter they had just won the treble. He couldn't get them into the top six and was sacked half way through the season. He was a disaster at Napoli too. Even the Real Madrid fans knew he was a poor appointment. He did well at Valencia but Barcelona and Real weren't as powerful as they are now and Atletico and Sevilla weren't much of a challenge either.

He failed at Napoli, he failed at Real his last success was Liverpool in the champions league and I dare bet he'll fail at the mags !

No defence no real strike force they've got a really good chance of going down !

Used to put on a scouse accent at an English club while the other put on a Dutch accent at a Dutch club.

Spooky

In what way weren't madrid as powerful as now?

Bigger than winning the champions league, la liga twice or uefa cup twice?
Valencia won the CL 15 years ago, Liverpool 11 years ago. When Howard Wilkinson took over at Sunderland, he'd won the top division title more recently than either of those.

So that makes keeping the mags up a bigger achievement than all of those?

How?

I'm not saying it does, but he's going to be in a very different environment to the one he's used to. In fact, it wouldn't be anywhere those achievements obviously, but those achievements more than a decade and several jobs ago, have no bearing on how he'll perform in this position.

Couple of mentions of Rafa

"He's more of a coach than a manager"

"Rafa isn't a manager who will lift you with words or a speech"

Then goes on to say he was a tactical genius for subbing an injured player

I admire your positive attitude (on this subject) but I fear there's a bit of whistling in the dark involved. In the past Ashley has completely botched up when it came to replacing managers during the season but if it's Benitez then I cannot see him failing to keep them up. Newcastle's defence is shocking but they've got some good players elsewhere who just need the right motivator to start racking up the points.
We can only hope Mike manages to surprise us. I think it's time for Richard Dinnis to return.

If you aren't a Mag you are giving a very good impression of being one.

Mourinho - Real Mardid to Chelsea
Ancelotti - Real Madrid to Bayern Munich
Benitez - Dole queue to Newcastle

Tidied.

;)
