Newcastle Manager Situation

He might be ITK but he certainly is not on GMT.
The daft thing is the Tweet in the OP wasn't actually breaking news so the original post was wide of the mark IMO. His Tweet actually read "someone just told me Steve McClaren has been sacked. Is this true?" That's not breaking news to me it's asking a question. And here we are 101 pages later

Not worried but the point is McClaren seems to have lost the players and they aren't playing for him, regardless of how shite they actually are. If he goes then they could bring in Whey Aye Man as manager and they will probably play better. Obviously over time then it's up to the new manager to make them better and more consistent.

This happens in other jobs when a manager/team leader loses the teams faith/respect and the team simply don't put in the effort that they'd put in without question previously. They'd do things like stop back or come in a few minutes just to finish something, miss a break and many other things that workers do for a manager they still have respect for. Once McClaren is gone, I'd expect the Mags to push themselves a little more and track players, make runs, give more of a fuck etc just like they have a few times this season at home but not because of McClaren but rather because they could be arsed.

It's called new manager bounce in football but I reckon it's more sacked manager bounce ;) They Mags may well bounce but then may fall again if Rafa can't get the team behind him so hopefully this will happen. Just like it did with Reme Garde for example getting a 0-0 at Man City, though Rafa is a better manager of course but he's mainly dealt with quality players ;)

no not at all, you can change the manager and change the back room staff all you like, but in the end the only things that matters is on the pitch and if your team doesn't have the fight in them it doesn't matter, villa are a great example of that

As this assumed appointment rumbles on there is every possibility he will come to his senses and not touch them with a barge pole.

Who do you reckon they will plump for if Benitez rejected them?

I'd be more worried if they got a grafter like Pearson tbh

I've thought this as well. A lot of people talking as if it's a straight shoot out between us and mags. It's anyone's guess who could drop for me.
Out of the 3 we look tighter but we're still giving daft goals away. We should have had more from City, Palace and Southampton which would have us far more comfortable than we are. Any of us 3 can go

Haven't read the replies but my answer is yes. Not that I rate Benitez, in fact it may end in tears, but any new manager will give them a lift.

Fact..he is to good for them
Fact he will be warned away from the Job as its a graveyard for all reputations
Fact they wont sack stevey boy until they have a replacement
