Newcastle Manager Situation

As long as the new manager isn't in for the Leicester game.

Call me superstitious but I can't stop thinking about the whole PDC, Poyet, Advocaat, Allardyce - lose your first game then win the derby trick.

When has Rafa been known as a firefighter, he will be looking for a better job than that I would say. He also has the biggest squad of hanger Oners in football, puts Mohamed Ali to shame. It would take weeks for them to settle in

Craig hope reckons Benitez is interested.

I honestly think he could bomb
hope is a total and utter bellwhiff.

think about all the managers FMA has appointted

Keegan
JFK
Shearer
Houghton
Pardew
Mclown

there either novices are in career decline... what does that tell you? a lack of ambition to get higher calibre candidates, why is that? easy to control coz their desperate or don't have the experience to know

now that might change, but realistically why would anybody decent take the job at the worst possible time and tarnish rep.

all the names in the frame are just meat and drink easy copy for the liars in the press... chances are FMA will want another one of the types above

I think he's a pretty poor manager tbh, maybe a reasonable coach. His record earlier on was good, but seems to live on that now and he's lucky that the manager merry go round in Spain and Italy is massive, so constant failures keep getting jobs. His record of buying at Liverpool was nothing short of atrocious barring about two exceptions.

Allardyce seems to be able to get under his skin too.

He's failed everywhere he's been since he left Liverpool.
chelsea... he did well won a trophy

Cashley would have to stump up another 100 mill in the close season if he kept them up, he would have tp peddle most of that team to make them competitive, I couldn't see him taking it for another relegation scrap.
benitez still has some cache.. he'll want a stable club, huge wages ad huge kitty anything less and its not worth the hassle IMHO... nufc is a basket case

Unless the humbling experiences at Napoli and RM have brought about a massive ego change, I cannot see him going there.
Much as I detest the mags, they are a big club - not massive like Liverpool, RM, Chelsea, Man Utd, but big and considered big in the UK, so it would no doubt attract him.
A ten game contract with huge bonus is surely the only real option as Ashley would have to change his attitude to transfers, and would have to reduce the influence of Carr. Can you imagine Benitez letting Carr dictate to him ?? No way.
If Benitez's agent has owt about him, he can dictate the terms and see if Ashley baulks.
Hard to call which way this will go.

Did he not do ok at Napoli ?

If Ashley decides money is no object then for 10 games I guess they could have the pick of whoever is out of contract. Hopefully it goes tits up and leaves them in financial meltdown due to their players non relegation contracts.
