Newcastle Manager Situation

Not entirely convinced that he is a good manager any more to be honest. Was a disaster at Inter, did OK and nothing more at Chelsea, was a failure at Napoli and his time at Madrid was far from a success.

Have to agree with you.
I think he's far too overhyped.

But cup games are spread out tbf. You can manage fitness better.

.

Even so that's a fair few years back. Since then his league performances have been dire.

Well yeah I'd probably agree with that. I thibk the vast majority of managers have a shelf life and after that they mind of lose their "mojo', and Benitez has been mostly iffy for quite a while.

Still shitting myself about him taking over them, but that's because I'm a panicky fuck.

He was well below par at Napoli like, took them from 2nd to 5th in 2 seasons despite being the highest spenders in the league during his time there.

Didn't realise the Napoli drop was so bad tbh

They could appoint megson and I would still be shit scared about a bounce

he's an absolutely superb manager, no idea how people can convince themselves otherwise
Why does he keep getting peddled then?

I shouldn't be but I'm surprised at how bad they are handling all of this. Obviously McClaren is toast and he and all the players know it so why keep him hanging around the place and continuing to take the training sessions, this can't be achieving anything positive. The latest reports are that a deal with Benitez isn't close and he is still undecided on what to do, I can see still McClaren still in charge for the Leicester game at this rate.

Cashley would have to stump up another 100 mill in the close season if he kept them up, he would have tp peddle most of that team to make them competitive, I couldn't see him taking it for another relegation scrap.
