I think everyone one other than the top 6, Everton and Leicester and maybe Wolves are the “old Sunderland” if you will. All lack any ambition other than to stay in the league
 

Watched them v Wolves the other night. They played well and in fairness whenever I've seen them this season theyve played not to bad. The problem is that good performances dont get you out of the shite - wins do and they are deep in the crap.

They didn't even have a good performance when they beat Man City tbh.

They played the bottom team, at home, and didn't have a single attempt on target.

Their best 'performances' have been grinding out a dreary win imo.

nah...they can never ever even contemplate being as good as we are, should they drop they will still be scumcastle!!

I hope not. A few more years of floating around the bottom then drop. The longer it drags the worse the damage is.
 
In the sense of being a mid table to lower half Premier League constantly trying to stay out of the relegation mix and then succumbing few years, yes that is a mirror of what we were from 2007-2017 really. They of the same level and same capability.

Lascelles, Longstaff and Almiron would easily make £50mil between them
