This might sound a bit crazy, but if a world class manager is aware that funds are limited and considering he rarely plays most of his buys, would it not make sense to buy 7-8 of his 1st choice players, rather than buying around 12 second choice players.

Few things to unpack there;

"Rarely plays most of his buys" How've you come to that conclusion? It's 4 games in and the indolence of Ashley and his cronies meant that we did our business later than we should, meaning the new players are unlikely to be ready to play in Benitez' style yet.
Our squad is so thin because of a legacy of poor transfer business under Ashley's reign that given our modest ambition, it makes sense to fatten out the squad a bit. Rather than dumping your limited budget on a few players.
We did not sign 12 players, we signed: Dubravka, Schar, Fernandez, Ki, Kenedy, Muto, Rondon. For the princely sum of, what, £25m? Even if Benitez was allowed to buy his first choices, how many could he actually get for £25m?

Tidied.

Just been to Newcastle today with my daughter. We walked past St James' and I told her that's Newcastle's ground. Her exact words were "Dad, it looks dirty."

11 years old and already knows the score ;)

The ground is absolutely manky tbf (beyond the usual), needs a good jet wash but that’s not a priority.

There’s been a dead pigeon in the Gallowgate roof netting for years.

He didn’t buy 3 of them though, 2 are on loan and Ki was a free. So while not huge sums £25m between 4 players is a little different than between 8 players.
He had Kenedy last year and went back for him this year so I think he might have been close to 1st choice. He also chased Rondon all summer too by several accounts.

Brilliant old man, brilliant. Reveille was about 0730, gym, shower, played a few holes of golf, pint and chilling outside he clubhouse whilst chuckling away at you two clowns arguing over the fat man.

So yes, another rewarding day in my truly excellent life, glad to see you're still concerned.

What a strange comment. :oops::oops:

You lot are a giggle everyday, you log on here and bitch over the busted flush, one of you can actually see what is going on where as the other is clearly blinded by a name and is still wanking over him, I'll let you decide which is which.

I'm surprised at how quickly you both chomped. :lol::lol:
I'm a member at castle Eden. Do you know it?

Mitrovic signed when McClaren was manager.

And Benitez couldn’t get the best out of him.

More ‘net spend’ money on players Rafa didn’t sign. Wijnaldum, Sissoko, Mitrovic... ;)

He’s certainly reinvested a decent wedge of money in his few years with you
