Perhaps if he's sold all these players for good fees he should have been able to keep them up in the first place.

of course it makes a difference,the price of out goings effect the quality and what you can spend on your incomings........especially if thats one of the main parts of your budget.

tally up spend and sales....total = how much it has taken rafa to get a relegated side back into the top 7 of the prem(as of now).

and which players he has bought or inhereted values has fell,stayed the same or increased.


or the easier way...............just accept rafa's a good manager and our spend to get back to where we are has been buttons compaired to the profit of being and staying in the prem.

Captain of the team that were the only side in Villa's last 15 games to fail to beat them or fail to score against them. Captain of the team that took 2 points from Villa, Norwich and Sunderland and captain of the team that got you relegated and according to every NUFC fan I ever speak to (i'm from Gateshead) the Spurs game aside he was utter, utter shite. Most would have taken half the money you got for him.

So aye - zero contribution.

Look man, it's fairly normal practice that when you lose a talented player but get a big fee for him you buy a half decent replacement. The Sunderland way is to sell the likes of Pickford and replace him with a bag of shite and this goes a long way to explaining why we are where we are and you are where you are.

Not much to argue with there tbf as things stand today :neutral: however you make it sound as if NUFC haven't been relegated and struggled at the bottom end of the prem in recent years because of shit purchases and are in fact this great business model that we should all aspire to.

I've seen plenty of unconvincing sides in that Premier League over the past few years whereby grinding out results is more than enough. Sadly last season, we weren't one of them.
