To be fair you lot waffle on about winning titles a fair bit on here before most of your grandparents were born.

There is a difference.

We are not using historical titles to make a direct argument that we should be competing to win the Premier league now.

You lot on the other hand do use historical feats to argue you should be competing in the champions league now.

That’s called embracing winning titles, even it it was years ago. We are proud of our clubs history.

You lot, also have a proud history but you’d rather talk about anything after 92 when you nearly won something.
 
They were successful in 92 because it was a fairy tale. They were exactly the same as SAFC in the 80s and Keegan and Hall took them on an adventure we'd all love to experience.

Keegan made some poor decisions they forgave (selling Cole) because they were enjoying the ride.

Now because of that era there is expectancy. Allardyce was doing a perfectly good job but they hounded him out because he wasn't high profile enough.

It's all about status. The man to lead them to glory could be in league 1 right now but he'd never manage it as there fans wouldn't want him or back him if he got the job.

Look at Pardew there mode successful manager this decade and he is derided because he isn't glamorous
