He went for the money. That seems blindingly obvious.
Even the most blinkered would have to accept that he cannot possibly have gone there for footballing reasons.
He stayed for over three years. In the present day that represents quite a tenure. Getting offered that money at 59, I don't think many would decline it. I would be off in a shot.
I certainly didn't feel humiliated by it. It became a bit inevitable as time went on.
He got £18M for managing the sknunks for 3 years. So he banked about £10M and that's on top of the cash he made along with pay offs from managing in Liverpool, Madrid and Milan.
Sorry but a bloke who has earned more money than he can ever spend still chasing money is pathetic IMO.
Agreed. Sold him for 35 million, and even scrambled his own helicopter in to make sure the deal was done in time.
Resign him on a free. If Ashley is downing a pint and barking in a fireplace tonight, it is fully justified.
He's a total crock. If he starts more than 6 games I'll be shocked. Pointless signing IMO.
