Listen Muppet....Since Wembley has been rebuilt your bunch of delusional spenks have never QUALIFIED to play there. So much for being a big club.
WE have been there THREE times through competitions we have been involved in.
Also representing the North East at the National Stadium since it’s rebuild have been Boro, Gateshead, Whitley Bay (3 consecutive seasons), North Shields, Dunston, West Auckland, Spennymoor Town, Morpeth and I still have great memories of South Shields winning there.
We know how things are and that is why this (possible) takeover is exciting. We have been through the bad times with dignity (get someone to look it up for you).
Having Ashley as owner is better than you deserve.
I would not shout about that too loudly. Out of those three trips, two of them (league 1 play-off and lower league cup), you only qualify for by being really shit for 3 years then being just not quite as shit as minnow clubs around you....then we got beat.

The point being made was that you can only qualify for the finals of the competitions you are eligible to take part in.
Newcastle have NEVER appeared at the new National Stadium since it’s inception. The ONLY reason they have appeared at the new Wembley is because of Spurs....meanwhile a host of other North East clubs have appeared there by their own means...both winning AND losing. Yeah we lost three times....
BUT...I’ll tell you this.
I would rather get there and lose than not get there at all....ever.

Imagine if that rumour is true these investors chose us instead of them
Someone got it spot on earlier in the thread. £350m for them £40m for us. Both buy you a club with a lot of passionate support and big stadium that will be full of noisy fans if there is a whiff of success, both take masses on the road. In their favour, they are a Premier League club, but one who could be facing a relegation battle. In our favour, we own the ground, land academy so are potentially a better long term prospect. The trick is getting us back in the Premier League, which is not a certainty. But if you have £310m spending money from what you would have spent on the mags and no long expensive contracts to clear when we get there, that £310m goes a long way.

Given our size but our low value based on our troubles, I think we are an excellent investment prospect and I’m surprised someone has not been in for us before now.
