New shirt thread/Elvis link (no shirts yet)

Not sure its the right demographic for us tbh yes Elvis is very popular world wide but i doubt he causes many waves in the under 30's market. Personally i think its more about brand recognition world wide and Sunderland might get mentioned more in the media because of the elvis linked shirt!
If the kit is actually nice all the hip under 30 football shirt nerds will buy it

From what I understand bud is that we are really going to push the club in the US next month. We will be in Nashville for the week and you will see a lot of images of the new kit with the Elvis collaboration.

Given how popular Elvis still is in that part of the world, the club will hope that not only will Elvis fans buy the top but they also pick up a few more long term fans.

Of course, they will also hope the kit goes on to break records with our traditional base.

From the clubs point of view, they will know it’s virtually impossible to take on the big clubs in the US. The likes of Utd, Liverpool and Chelsea have spent decades building up a fanbase. Collaborations like this though might just allow us to make some small gains in a huge market.

Little things like getting publicity on local TV in Nashville etc, can make a difference. This collaboration will hopefully help that as well
Its a great move by KLD to get us involved in a friendly tourno with liverpooland co in the states this summer, especially if USA do well in the world cup!I was over there in 94 and the place was buzzing and ive still got the wonky red and white striped USA shirt from then !...wish i could still fit into it!

Probably right ,but I still think that a very niche market akin to the number of working brain cells in the Trump cerebrum .

So we're doing this in the hope that broadcasters in the US, the most introspective sporting country in the world, start talking about a foreign team in a minority sport, and as a result Americans flock to buy the away kit of a team they have never heard of, because they play in the favourite colours of a singer who died 50 years ago but has no link with that club beyond the fans singing one of his songs in the ground?

Well, I met a Chinese family just this weekend, with the son wearing a Home/Xhaka top. So I of course stopped to talk to them and they said that they started following us a year ago, as loved the story.

They went all the way to Sunderland in Feb against Fulham, from the far east. Was brilliant. The Dad and the Mam were buzzing when me and my son stopped them to talk.

So you would be surprised at how many international fans we pick up for various reasons.

There's a large fanbase in the US who will buy every bit of merch they see with Elvis's name on it or linked to him. Even if it's a foreign team in a sport they have no interest in, they will clamber over each other for a Elvis Presley sports top
