New Music Releases Thread

Angine de Poitrine for the hipsters
It gets the seal of approval from our hipster toddler. Bopping around the room to it today.

There's a new one from John Andrews and the Yawns today. Not had chance to give it a go yet but I've been looking forward to it for a while.

Just booked up to see Hayden Thorpe perform Wild Beasts songs. It sounds like it may be the start of a proper reunion. Not sure how I feel about that as they ended it at the perfect time.

Wu Lyf new record is out next week. Looking forward to that.

Billy Fuller's album is quite good although as it's music he's worked on over multiple years, it wasn't as cohesive an experience I was hoping for. Fragments makes sense as a title.
Angine de Poitrine works for me when I'm watching them, but I get a bored at times with the music alone.
Hearing good things about the Deary album so just checking that out now. In the first couple of songs I'm reminded of My Bloody Valentine, Cocteau Twins and Slowdive. Know they're supporting The Twilight Sad on tour including a Boiler Shop date so might have to look at that if the full album stands up.

There are new albums on Friday from Fantastic Cat, Holly Humberstone, Jessie Ware, Joe Jackson, Lime Garden, My New Band Believe, Snopp Dogg, Squarepusher, Wu Lyf, Mamas Gun, Naissam Jalal, Broken Chanter, Brown Horse, Wendy Eisenberg, Tiwayo, Melanie Baker, Cactus Lee, sam Grassie and Gnod.

I thought Friko's new album was out as well but that seems to have been nudged back by 2 weeks.

Eisenberg was out last week

Will listen to Melanie Baker. I went to see Faithful Johannes & Neocia last weekend and learnt that Neocia (aka Jon) plays guitar in Melanie Baker Band.
I'm very much looking forward to the Félicia Atkinson & Christina Vantzou release that's also out on Friday.

Just a quick note to say that Holly Humberstone has been getting good reviews (Rolling Stone) and that someone I know is one of the songwriters and he’s a top lad. So anyone who does listen I hope they enjoy it.

I’ll interested in Brown Horse and Squarepusher this week which feel like very much other end spectrums of the musical sphere.

I wish squarepusher would go back to his electronic style, 3 tracks into this and it sounds like Tom and Jerry ffs
