My favourites so far this year are

Dry Cleaning - Secret Love
Jana Horn - Jana Horn
Hen Ogledd - Discombobulated
Phew & Danielle de Picciotto - Paper Masks
Andrew Wasylyk - Irreparable Parables
Jeanne Gorisse - Moires
Kim Gordon - Play Me
Leila Bordreuil & Kali Malone - Music For Intersecting Planes

Anyone want to share their favourite albums of the year so far for me so I have some things to listen to whilst on the way to Germany on Thursday? (I know look at me yadadada)

I know it’s incredibly early so if I get banished from the thread so be it
The Scratch
The Molotovs
Courtney Barnett
Howling Bells
Madra Salach (EP rather than an album)

Few others to give a listen:

Lande Hekt - Jangly guitar pop. It reminds me a lot of Veronica Falls if you enjoyed them about a decade ago.
Alice Costelloe - similar to the above. She used to be the singer in Big Deal, but this is her debut solo record. Very good.
deathcrash - their most accessible record to date.
PVA - intense, pulsing. Good.
Shaking Hand - a bit post punky, a bit Midwest emo. Rock solid debut album.

@James What do you think of the new Ulrika Spacek album? I've heard it a couple of times, but it's not doing much for me.
Unfortunately it was pretty forgettable. I've not really been properly gripped by anything they've done (inc the solo records) since Modem English Decoration.

They've seemingly chosen to drop all of their edge and urgency which is a shame. They used to be really fun. It's a bit flat these days.

Current favourite new releases

Avalon Emerson - written into changes
Sofia Kourtesis - DJ-Kicks
Oldstar- Of the highway
Alexis Taylor - Paris in the spring
Courtney Barnett - Creature of habit
Tom Misch - Full circle
Tigers Jaw - Lost on you

There's new albums this week from Arlo Parks, Billy Fuller, Charley Crockett, Earl Sweatshirt MIKE & SURF GANG, ps goner, Sunn O))), Thundercat, Lyr, Joe Pernice, The Bevis Frond and Nathan Fake

A lot of my favourites already mentioned but I'll throw Greazy Alice into the mix.

Started with the new LYR album. Unsurprisingly I enjoyed it as a fan of Simon Armitage. Will also give Billy Fuller and Angine de Poitrine a listen.
