New Music Releases Thread

There are new releases this week from Bonnie 'Prince' Billy, Crica Waves, Geologist & D.S. (Animal Collective member and mate), LS Dunes, Lily Hiatt, Manic Street Preachers, Maribou State, The Weeknd, Everyone Say Hi, Prison, Adrian Younge, Decius, Cymande and Eddie Chacon.

I've just arrived in Bangkok for work so won't get much new listened to until the weelend after this.
It’s amazing how many artists I follow on social media, but never find out about their new releases until Arkle’s weekly roundup. Lilly Hiatt

never listened to her before, so gave it a go and its decent. Perfect Stranger is an absolute banger
LP1 is also worth a listen and the middle album - I think it’s called Magdalene or something like that.

Two Weeks off LP1 might be up as one of my favourite songs ever made. At least top 50

My highlight thus far is the latest solo album from Chris Eckman, once of the Walkabouts. Lovely laidback vibe and just quality songs. It's Americana of sorts, I guess. Just get it listened to.
Gave this a couple of spins walking the dog this morning. It’s a beautiful album.

It puts me in mind of Matt Berninger’s album from a couple of years ago.

There are new releases tomorrow from Biig Piig, Dream Theater, Drop Nineteens (a remaster of 1991), Facs, Guided by Voices, Heartworms, Krept & Konan, Olly Alexander, Sharon Van Etten & the Attachment Theory, Squid, Nadia Reid, Rats on Rafts, Peace Flag Ensemble, The Moles and Helen Ganya.
New album from Inhaler tomorrow as well.

Think I've played this Mogwai album more in the first few weeks than I have done for any of their albums since Rave Tapes. Really like it. Tempted to grab a resale ticket to go see them down Leeds in a few weeks cos there's a few off this album I'd love to see live. Lion Rumpus, If You Find This World Bad and Hi Chaos in particular.

First track was a bit underwhelming mind, felt like it was building and building to absolutely no pay off. Complete opposite of To The Bin My Friend to open up the album before.

There is a compilation of the Pains of Being Pure at Heart b-sides from around the time of the S/T album out today too.

There is also a compliation available on Bandcamp featuring loads of artists called Good Music to Lift Los Angeles. Bandcamp are donating all profits today too. It's got TVOTR, Perfume Genius, Animal Collective, REM, Death Cab/Postal Service, Tenacious D, Modest Mouse, MJ Lenderman, Courtney Barnett... there is 90 tracks for $20.

I'm really enjoying the L.S Dunes album from last week. Never heard of them before but got recommended it.

I just discovered Chappell Roan. I know, I know, you all discovered her years ago but I'm old and don't listen to much new stuff like you young'uns. Fuck is she good.
How can this be 4 years old and I never even heard it until a few days ago?

I need to spend more time with new Mogwai album. Early impressions are good though.
Enjoyed the new album from Squid on first listen. Second album mostly disappointed me, but I think this one is much better.

The Cure - Whatever their new album's called.
FFS I listened to the tracks that were released early and tbh they didn't really grab me. Just listened to the whole album. I think The Cure are in danger of being the first band to make me fall in love with music twice.
Well done lads.
