New Music Releases Thread

What did everyone think of last Friday's releases?

I've been a big Franz Ferdinand fan since day dot but this new one is poor I think. I can't get into it and think they miss the drummer.

I don't get the hype at all around Lambrini Girls and I feel like that style has been done to death over the past few years with Dry Cleaning etc.

Lastly, Moonchild Sanelly is good fun. It goes on a bit and in the end, a lot of the songs sound the same but enjoyed it.

I've really getting into Tyler the Creator's last album over the past couple of weeks. I've never bothered with him since Goblin (which Wiki tells me was 13 years ago) but this one is very good.

His last few have been great. Flower Boy, Igor and the one after that too. Didn’t dislike the newest but I haven’t revisited it as much as those others.

Agreed completely about Franz Ferdinand, sounds like they're phoning it in. Lambrini Girls sou nd like an electroclash Amyl & the Sinners to me. I like the best tracks on the Moonchild Sanelly album a lot. Aside from them, Bridget Hayden is great if you like the doomier end of Bonnie "Prince" Billy's stuff, Brown Spirits do motorik well and ZZzahara's album is good fun.
 
Enjoyed the new Ethel Cain album or (extremely long) EP as it is being called. First thing I've heard from her. lots of hands have an album out today that is decent. Probably a grower, but I was impressed when I caught part of their set at The Grove before Gruff Rhys. The songs rosie and barnyard would give you a good taste.

I know. I was meaning to reply to the original video but ended up replying to a comment. I deleted that (or so I thought) and went back to the original post but when I posted my reply it went funny!!! No idea how that happened.
