New Music Releases Thread

Sorry mate! The sound quality in Gorilla was seriously impressive. Six of them up on stage, all with vocals, at least eight different instruments and you could hear everything crystal clear. First time I've been in there, really good.
It’s a cracking little venue. The drinks choice is really poor now which is a shame.

looking forward to listening. Seeing black midi live in porto a few years back was one of my live highlights of the last 10 years. Just amazing.
Yeah theyre a cracking live act or were haha, I started to get a bit jaded from the theatrical side to their music especially their last album, it’s still sort of there with this one but much less prominent. It’s a real body horror of genres and it’s great.

Good stuff. I’ve been a few times but my last gig there must’ve been 2019 to see GZA, definitely overdue a visit.

My main worry with PSB is that they've missed the boat (well, plane) a bit by releasing an album about Amelia Earhart a month or two after Laurie Anderson did the same thing. That was excellent!
that laurie anderson album is excellent!!! hadnt bothered to listen until you mentioned it here & its brilliant... i think it tells the story as a concept album better than the PSB one, and i say that as a PSB fanboi... in fact the PSB album is a bit disjointed in my humble opinion.

Agree with this (albeit STILL (grrr) I'm waiting for the zoetrope vinyl!) on PSB - maybe it'll grow on me but its not pulling me into lots of listens ... +1 on the laurie anderson album too.

Caribou is good but it’s ultimately left me feeling nothing, which I’d say is not common for a Caribou record in my books.

Will get another spin at some point
I really like it, although he absolutely ripped off another song on his Album.

The Tech Support song came out in 2019

PSB is growing on me with a repeat listen, i think i probably should read her book the last flight. whereas they've done stuff like the space or the coal mines that i'm well aware of with this i don't quite understand the narrative not knowing the amelia earhart story.

It's a dud imo. Can't get on with it at all.

The new Naima Bock record is lovely. A step up from the debut which was also really good.

I'm loving the Hayden Thorpe record at the minute. Something has just clicked for me and I can't stop going going back to it.

Which is funny as it’s the only song I really enjoyed on the album. I mean he samples a lot so does he claim to sample it?

Regardless, it’s not a strong album

I know the blokes a total wrong’un but I’ve been hammering crystal castles the last few days. They were class back in the day.

Zeotrope finally arrived today, so I'll be on tomorrow :)

Finding the Memorials album an interesting one. Hadn't really heard of them until recently. Multiple reviews mention Stereolab which was enough for me to check them out and very pleased I did.

There are new releases tomorrow from Babii, Becky G, Caroline Says, Field Music, Goat, Harmony, Myles Kennedy, Samara Joy, The Blessed Madonna, The Linda Lindas, The Necks, The Offspring, Touche Amore, Tucker Zimmerman (heavy Big Thief involvement in this), Dawes and Paul Heaton.

It's a very, very good album.
