There are new albums this week from Blossoms, Bright Eyes, FIDLAR, Future, Jake Bugg, Jamie XX, Joan As Police Woman, Julian Casablancas & the Voidz, Kate Pierson, Katy J Pearson, Katy Perry, Keith Urban, Manu Chao, Midland, Nelly Furtado, Neon Trees, Nightwish, Nubya Garcia, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan, Pale Waves, Sunset Rubdown,The Waeve, Thurston Moore, Tim Reaper & Kloke, Ed Schrader's Music Beat, Photay, Nonpareils, Lice, Erland Cooper, Beautify Junkyards, Lutalo and John Murry & Michael Timmins.

I'll be catching up with these and last week adter the weekend.
How'd you get on with Urban's new album?

I think it's brilliant. Best album since Love, Pain and the Whole a crazy Thing in 2006

As much as I'm pleased that Alan Sparhawk is back after losing his wife Mimi Parker, I'm not sure I'll be able to enjoy this solo album. Will come back to it and try again, but the vocals are just too offputting for me now. I do hope plenty other people feel differently. Official reviews I've seen say it's good, but in the circumstances who would give it a bad review.

It’s better than what I was expecting from the singles. But I had low expectations

Pun not intended

I can’t decide if I love it, or if it’s TV Variety Show style cringe. Maybe a bit of both 😂
Going for gold feels a bit cheesey by itself in my opinion, but in with the rest, I'm a big fan.

Gavin Degraw also has a re-record of his album Chariot released today. Sticking that on shortly.

Saw Crack Cloud last night in Manchester. They were bloody brilliant, the best performance I've seen from them I think. Red Mile sounded cracking live as well, added another dimension to the record. Get on it if you haven't already!

There are new releases tomorrow from A Place to Bury Strangers, Balance & Composure, Caribou, Coldplay, Dawn Richard & Spencer Zahn, Drug Church, Finneas, Geordie Greep, Godspeed You! Black Emperor, Half Waif, Leon Bridges, Memorials, Midland, Orla Gartland, The Bug, The Hard Quartet (a Malkmus featuring supergroup), The Smile, The Sacred Souls, Wild Pink, Public Service Broadcasting, Anna Butterss, Yasmin Williams, Seun Kuti & Egypt 80 and Blood Incantation.

Good day this.

Caribou, Geordie Greep, GY!BE, PSB, The Smile, Seun Kuti, Wild Pink and the Hard Quartet for me Clive

I'm all over the PSB release tomorrow, just as a massive fan i'm worried i'm going to be underwhelmed (the 3 i've heard already sound like they're treading water:confused:).

didnt know about the smile or caribou releases which are a nice cherry on the friday cake.

My main worry with PSB is that they've missed the boat (well, plane) a bit by releasing an album about Amelia Earhart a month or two after Laurie Anderson did the same thing. That was excellent!

he (j) has mentioned that in interviews and genuinely had no idea that she was doing what she was doing. i think he was taken a bit by surprise, no idea what the logistics would be of changing the release.
