New Music Releases Thread

Spring Offensive's debut released today, however I'm not sure if it has been released to the general public or just people who Pledged. I'll find out if anyone's interested, I can't wait to hear it but I'm waiting on my record to arrive before I listen.

This thread seems full of stuff on the complete opposite spectrum though. :lol:

It doesn't mean they can't be mentioned.

Most of what I've been listening to today has been new releases from the last week or two so has mostly been mentioned already. Asgeir's the best of the five new to me albums. Broken Bells good, Maximo Park and Bombay Bicycle Club I hope are growers, Breton's new album is pretty good, although they don't seem to be flavour of the month any more so it's got a low key release.
 
Out of the new stuff so far this year I'm really enjoying Asgeir and Mutual Benefit...

As for stuff from last year that I didn't get round too I've been listen to Linda Thompson 'Won't be long now', Deafhaven - 'Sunbather' and Drenge - 'Drenge'. All three albums totally different types of music but I'm loving all of them

the stuff i've heard from both Bombay & Breton, was really good... but arent they both sounding very similar to what Foal's did last year with the album holy fire, which i think was one of the best albums of last year...

Breton certainly sound a fair bit like Foals. Not sure that BBC do though.

Check out Ashen Horde's "Sanguinum Vindicta" aswell as Corpsessed's "Abysmal Thresholds" if you haven't already. I suspect those two might be right up your alley.

What are they Nasum? I've only just started to try and get into black and death metal. I'm not experienced if they're super "extreme." I've been listening to a bit Emperor, Ihsahn, Immortal and the one and only Burzum. Pretty much accessible BM.

I'm not a big fan of his Ambient efforts, but his early albums, Det Som En Gang Var, Filosofem, and Hvis Lyset Tar Oss are amongst my favourites of any genre.

Very interesting bloke too. I've been trying to get a hold of a few books and documentaries about the whole scene but I don't fancy paying too much.
