HAIM and Fenech Soler for me :D

Off to see them soon too .... on my wife's recommendation, she loves them but I've never heard them !

Wedding Present and The National too - looking forward to The National but have a feeling there won't be much off Alligator or Boxer

Listening to Jon Hopkins and new Goldfrapp at the moment

i love them :D give them a listen on YouTube (lies and demons are my favorites) when i saw them at Leeds Fest it was a really good atmosphere so hopefully its more of the same!

I'm off to California and Las Vegas in 10 days time for a road trip and need some good albums for the long drives... any recommendations based on what I already have chosen (so similar bands):

Queens of the stone age - Like Clockwork
Kings of Leon - Mechanical Bull
Jamie N Commons
Arctic Monkeys - AM
Band of Horses - Mirage Rock
The Pines - Dark So Gold
Ben Howard - Every Kingdom

Try Drenge?

New Deer Tick out today, only had one listen but it seemed a bit boring. Still think the best stuff they do is the slower paced songs.

Just listened to the new Pins debut album, pretty decent, bit of a similar dark indie atmosphere as the Savages but more varied & musical. Looking forward to seeing them at the Cluny in a couple of weeks.

Brilliant - Saturday of the Bonded Warehouse beer festival as well. Got tickets already for the Cluny gig the night before, but if they're half as good as I'm expecting think I'll be seeing them again, cheers!

The new Mazzy Star album is, well remarkably like all their other stuff but I didn't expect anything else. Might be good for a road trip...

Roy Harper's new album is ace also. Again, sounds like you'd expect it to sound.

Not listened to Mazzy Star before so will check them out... cheers :)

Finally got round to listening to Miles Kane's latest album... had listened to a few songs a while back and thought it sounded crap so didn't give it much of a chance... after a few proper listens I'm happy to say I was right. What a load of formulaic make the words rhyme emotionless turd.

Shame as I actually liked his 1st album, the Last Shadow Puppet's stuff and 'First of my Kind' at the end of this turged experience.
