I really like Mowbray. Always felt he'd only take us so far but at the moment I just dont think he'll last. I'm furious at the club with some of the things they're doing and how they're exposing Mowbray with youth and inexperience, but he's also not helping himself with one or two choices.
Like - dropping Hemir. I understand why today, the kid isn't ready, doesn't fight enough and needs easing in as he's just gone 20, has no experience and he's just moved to another country and team. In midfield I think he's been asking for an experienced dm since January. But then why introduce Jobe into that given he's barely done anything of note at Brum and could easily be eased in himself. Makes me ask if he's being forced - but then how can he be when he drops Hemir?
Same thing going on at the back. I'm convinced the club want Batth off the wage bill to help out with bringing others in, likely the same with Gooch and Prichard. But he was invaluable last season and to leave him out for O'nien when we're not as strong elsewhere in the team and to be potentially letting him go for nothing when we've not even started to bed in Seelts is mental.
We'll see what the ends of the window brings in but without a couple of major additions and a bit of pragmatism I fear its going to be a very long season.
