Mowbray

Hes got the option of going to a back 3 like we did alot of times last season to give a stronger foundation at the back. He can get the midfield players to stay deeper instead of Neil and ekwah both bombing forward together... he has the option of o'nien going into midfield.

Hes got to do more than he is.
So we go 3 at the back, with batth, ballard and 09?

Wingback are hume and Cirkin?

Then ekwah and Neil?

Then Clarke, hemir and Roberts? Still the same midfield 2

They posted a photo with a packet of f***ing Revels waiting for him like it's his "thing" the other week.
It's a shame his thing isn't being able to organise a defence

The clubs social media is bizarre like.

All that shite with Maguire being the king, the one last dance stuff with Defoe, the ket and biscuits with Mowbray, the bigging up of 17 year old Bellingham as if he’s his big brother.

Some of our fans lap that shite up too.

Imagine that happening under Keano? Absolutely no chance.

It must be run by bairns with zero knowledge of football

He needs to get a grip of the system because it isn't working and its piss easy to score against us.

You could see all this in pre season and hes done nothing about it, nothing.

He does but players need to wake up a bit as well.

Look at Ekwah in the lead up to the first goal last week where we give the ball away and the break leads to desperate defending where we put it out for the throw they score from.

He’s meant to be sitting to cover and for some reason runs all the way out to the touch line on the right hand side without the ball and they break through where he’s meant to be. I was livid at the time just for the break away before I even knew they were going to score. He can’t be telling him to do that.

I really like Mowbray. Always felt he'd only take us so far but at the moment I just dont think he'll last. I'm furious at the club with some of the things they're doing and how they're exposing Mowbray with youth and inexperience, but he's also not helping himself with one or two choices.

Like - dropping Hemir. I understand why today, the kid isn't ready, doesn't fight enough and needs easing in as he's just gone 20, has no experience and he's just moved to another country and team. In midfield I think he's been asking for an experienced dm since January. But then why introduce Jobe into that given he's barely done anything of note at Brum and could easily be eased in himself. Makes me ask if he's being forced - but then how can he be when he drops Hemir?

Same thing going on at the back. I'm convinced the club want Batth off the wage bill to help out with bringing others in, likely the same with Gooch and Prichard. But he was invaluable last season and to leave him out for O'nien when we're not as strong elsewhere in the team and to be potentially letting him go for nothing when we've not even started to bed in Seelts is mental.

We'll see what the ends of the window brings in but without a couple of major additions and a bit of pragmatism I fear its going to be a very long season.

He plays the media like a fiddle mate.

One week he is having a meeting with Speakman, the next he is telling nick Barnes he has no idea who's coming in.

Then there's the pet lip at Luton away which he knew would blow up with fan support.

Last season he was loving working with the kids. This season he's signed Bradley Dack. It's not the results that bother me. If he wants to be a pound shop Alex Neil he could at least sort the defence out. At the moment he's the worst of both worlds and getting a free pass.

Get on the training field and start organising the defence and how we work without the ball.

Same goals conceded every week, wide open when we lose the ball and within 2 passes they're one on one.

Piece of piss to play against. Get some f***ing coaching done during the week and get some organisation into this team please.
Waiting for closed season. We will be hitting the ground running 2024-25 man!

good post.

If they’re more experienced, they would take TMs moaning in the media and say “I’ll show him”
But I fear these bairns just hear “they’re not good enough” and it will affect them.

Ekwah looked really tidy last week for most the first half and I thought 'have we finally got someone to play the dm role'. But Ipswich gradually put the strangle hold on our midfield and he began to lose composire and got overrun. Preston today congested the midfield at times and again he suffered massively. None of the midfielders have played really well, but Neil, who takes the shit on here, was probably the best.

Jobe was largely horrific today and spent more time on his arse diving in or having half arsed attempts at keeping/winning the ball. All of them were too laboured in possession.

There's less emphasis on ce training midfield when you've got at lost 3 behind them

I agree.the manager needs to get them on a leash.

Aye he looked more disciplined last week but had the odd brain fart but agree he struggled today more.

Agree with Jobe as well. Another player with good technical ability (who may well have a high ceiling) but despite looking 25 he’s playing like the 17 year old I’d expect him to be and it’s causing problems.

Come on mate, their is more pressure on the midfield 2 as our wingbacks would get caught up field more often than not and the 2 would need to bale them out.

Unfortunately we don't have 2 that have played as a dm their entire career, they are learning on the job

You're going on as of having an older DM solves everything about the system, it doesn't. We were still shite defensively and off the ball when we had Evans in the team last season.

We need another body in there for certain and it would help, but we still won't be able to defend. Its not in mowbrays DNA as a coach.

And your going on as usual like it's all Mowbrays fault when I've highlighted the glaring issues the squad has

Evans was injured in January, we didn't do to bad before or after did we?

A dm was needed in Jan, its still needed now.

Square pegs in round holes
If we didn't do too bad after then what's changed from the end of the season to now? As we didn't have an older DM then either.

We managed to go on good runs then.

No, fully admit he has.

Just think on balance he hasn’t been given a fair crack of the whip from those above him and he’s brought a knife to a gun fight the majority of time he’s been here.

Just find it amazing that he was the amazing stand out candidate on their database yet don’t realise he wasn’t happy not choosing his own players.

Everyone has played the bullshit card and now all of them are looking like the twats they are.
