Mowbray

If he doesn’t add more physicality into the team then he’s a fool. O’Nien and Ekwah should get a run in the team together. Give us a solid base to let the attacking players do their thing. I like Dan Neil a lot but he needs a few weeks rest.

Was very disappointed with the team selection today (he got it completely wrong IMO). I was very disappointed with the substitutions (could have given the 2 new French lads a run out when we were getting pumelled), and very disappointed with his after match comments.
That team, club, and manager were made to look stupid today, it's a little over a year since a manager was sacked over a similar result.

Resigning would help
He'd certainly run the channels. It's just a question of.him understanding (literally, given he still seems to be struggling with English) when to go.
Players have lost belief, doesn’t matter how he shuffles the pack today was coming. It’s a minor miracle what he has got out of this team this season
I said on another thread that they look mentally frazzled, not physically fatigued. Do we have a sports psychologist?
The problem the club is is they know they have to do something a bit different due to having one of the lower budgets in the league. So to replicate an approach commonly used at other championship clubs will likely see us fighting towards the bottom of the table.
Not to mention being in the shit with a wage bill higher than turnover.

Different question ( sorry if seb) but I would be very tempted to drop Diallo and play one of “our” players for rest of season .
He’s been great for us but is cutting a frustrated figure at mo and I would rather develop one of our own now going forward .

Was this team picked to demonstrate to Speakman and KLD just how incomplete our recruitment has been?

Will it get KLD to dip into his pocket?

He’s not won more than 5 games between Feb and end of season for the last 4 years. (4 twice and 5 twice).

Can talk about not having a forward for days but our back line has been minging for weeks now. So easy to get in behind.

Utterly minging today. I mean wtf?
My Blackburn mate has messaged me today saying this is what happens with Mowbray and he doesn’t know how to change it!

Don’t think Mowbray’s at that stage yet, to be honest. I just think he’s flailing about now, trying to find an innovative way to get us up the pitch and occupy defenders. He’s already tried throwing a young LB up front.

And as to the second question - no.

Hes just another Harry Redknapp/Steve Bruce. Lovely bloke, players and staff like him, but ultimately he has no tactical nouse and coasts on goodwill/the occasional momentum.

Hes a put your arm round your shoulder, "go out and impress me lads", meat and potatoes kind of a manager.

When the going gets tough he lacks answers. Never comes across as someone who can react to the situation.

Neil has had a tough time at Stoke (today aside) however he inherited a shitshow.

He is a manager who demonstrates tactical know how, the ability to effectively change a team and formation based on the opposition, as opposed to Moggas throw shit against a wall and see what sticks approach.
Hope you are wrong please god 😑

Mowbray’s not the answer if we want to go for promotion next season. If you want mid table finish we'll keep him next season. It's up to the board if there have any ambition.
