Mowbray

What other team could he realistically put out?

Are you joking? He put out a team starting three number 10s and only one out and out centre midfielder.

Watch the first goal Pritchard is 35 yards out of position for where a conventional centre mid should be.
You’re actually suggesting playing Pritchard in CM was our best option today?

It’s actually incredible you can’t question Mowbray for a lot on here, his tactics day were rancid

Have been reluctant to criticise him too much during our poor runs of form without a striker as that’s been a massive failure of recruitment but he absolutely has to take the blame for today.

The most barmy team selection from a Sunderland manager since Parky set us up for a 0-0 down at Gillingham.

We've got some key injuries and we've been playing loads. When we win with similar attacking lineups he's praised and it's usually against teams like Stoke it works.

Haven't watched second half but I wouldn't panic sometimes teams go through rough patches one of those things. Also first half ref was abysmal so left

Hes just another Harry Redknapp/Steve Bruce. Lovely bloke, players and staff like him, but ultimately he has no tactical nouse and coasts on goodwill/the occasional momentum.

Hes a put your arm round your shoulder, "go out and impress me lads", meat and potatoes kind of a manager.

When the going gets tough he lacks answers. Never comes across as someone who can react to the situation.

Neil has had a tough time at Stoke (today aside) however he inherited a shitshow.

He is a manager who demonstrates tactical know how, the ability to effectively change a team and formation based on the opposition, as opposed to Moggas throw shit against a wall and see what sticks approach.

Despite an awful first half we shouldn’t have been one down. Shocking refereeing.

That said from minute one today we were set up completely wrong. Pritchard and Roberts in centre mid of a 433 was utter suicide.

I don’t understand why he’s shifted Roberts from the right in the 4/5 games, it’s by far and away his most effective position

I don't think he was ever playing as a conventional CM.
