Mowbray

Ekwah has barely had a kick so presumably he’s either unfit, not ready or shite. Ba has barely featured all season let alone started in the league. Bennette is another that barely gets a kick.

He just doesn’t seem to fancy any of them for whatever reason.
Perfect opportunity now to start blooding them properly. They will probably be expected starter's next season.

Sorry lads but this is the end of the road for these two. You can forgive the striker situation late 2022 as unfortunate, to lose both Simms and Stewart in close succession is bad luck (albeit I still maintain a balanced squad needs 4 strikers). But to then repeat the trick over the January window and only enter the season with a single striker and whatever Geldhart is supposed to be is unforgivable. Mowbray said in his interview that they only started the striker search that they only started looking for a striker when Stewart was injured at Fulham - implying they were happy with just Stewart up front. Are they serious? That is absolute incompetence at the highest level. Simms ironically wasn’t allowed to come here because Everton felt 3 strikers for 1 position was insufficient, yet we are happy with 1 striker for 1 position. To get done by the same problem in two windows in a row is not a mistake - it is negligence and speakman needs to be held to account for this.

And as for Mowbray - does he actually have any tactics? Today just looked like throwing all your wingers on the pitch and praying tbh. Absolutely no pace to our play or anything. Can anyone actually name a sub he’s made this season that’s been effective in changing a game in our favour? Apart from simms on at blackburn (ironically bringing on another striker 🤣) I can’t think of a thing.

Does he know what squad rotation is? Last I checked Stoke had played more games than us this season in all comps - looks like we’d played an extra 10/15 games and we’re dragging sacks of potato’s on our backs tbh. Absolute disgraceful management of his players. Just like Johnson’s time here. The bloke is an incompetent buffoon and needs the boot. And telling the players to go home and put their feet up during the week is not how professional athletes recuperate between games. That’s how things happened in the 1970s.

If only Blackburn fans could have forewarned exactly this situation from occurring.

Get out of our club, you sad smoggie bastard get out of our club!

You may as well go and bang your head against a brick wall because neither of them are going anywhere.

Given he was already in and around the club, he’s committed himself to bringing on young players, and those above him have obviously made a decision not to push for promotion this season I would be very, very surprised.

They will say “January window, Simms going back, Stewart/Evans injuries cost us. Start again in the summer”.

To some degree that’s correct, but today was awful.

This is a very valid view as well. I’m happy we are (pretty much) safe but I don’t think he’s the man to take us to the premier league either.

Today was shit though and I’m absolutely jaded by that

Based on today aye.

I’m sure he wouldn’t want to be going into the business end of a championship season with no strikers, a weak as piss centre midfield and a load of foreign bairns though.

I just think he’s been totally stitched up and it’s only going to get worse (not 5-1 worse but a lot more defeats and poor performances)

Feel f***ing sorry him like aye, January left us in a rancid position. Imagine doing as well as he has for us, getting into the play off spots and instead of strengthening we end up worse

Embarrassing result today but don’t understand how fans can be having a pop at him.

Done an unbelievable job considering the hand he's been dealt from above him.

Minimal championship experience and no strikers would catch up to any side in the championship. Frustratingly just got to write this season off and hope people have learned you can’t refuse to spend money on championship quality players when you are actually playing in that league.
Strange as I keep reading on here how brilliant our team are. As far as O'Neill leaving is concerned hasn't he just alluded to the hand he was dealt with from above?

I wouldn’t have given him the job. Then I was surprised by the football he plays/how seamlessly he guided us after Neil left. Now I’m worried about his old habits/trends starting to show.

I wouldn’t be against him being relaxed because I agree he probably has a low ceiling (he may be at it already). I just can’t see it happening bar us losing every game or something.

Right now we are crying out for some bold changes, some to be given a rest and others given a chance. I’m not sure he’s the sort of manager to do that though.

Had a bad day today, but this result has been coming for a while. Not enough experience in the team, and playing without a striker - he’s really working with one hand tied behind his back.

He's done a fine job, been schooled today mind by a much more streetwise AN.

He'll surely be gone by the seasons end, just hope we can find the right person to take the seat.
