Mortimer & Whitehouse Gone Fishing

Fullers earth, which is used in fly fishing to help take shine off tippet material 9degrease) and help it sink into the surface film, is used in the film industry to make explosions look bigger than they actually are.

It's my favourite programme and even this thread has me smiling.
I watch it all the time, basically having all 4 series on constant repeat.

It eases my anxiety and helps my depression, it's like having two mates constantly with you at all times.
It's my tonic and my aid. Such a beautiful, wonderful construct.

I've never fished, wouldn't know where to start, but i'd like to, one day.

If you were down here I would gladly take you.
Just being in one place for a period of time the nature that surrounds you is incredible.
It’s the one past time that I wish I could do more of. The only sacrifice would be to have to give up on the mighty Swindon and just couldn’t do that.

Without doubt when (hopefully) I retire I will do much more, that is a great feeling.
I miss going with one of my best mates and similarly to this programme have spent hours just putting the World to right over a beer on the river bank.

I live on the Thames in a Zander haunt, still never caught one, just loads of pike and perch, there's a south African guy has a predator boat, specialises in big pike and Zander, moored down by Kingston Bridge, showed me pics of some big Zander he has had.

I have heard live / dead baiting in a night session is the way to go. I don't live-bait myself like.
Loads here in the canal.

Caught any yourself Carson?
