Thing is as it turns out we signed players of the level. We basically didn't have to use 90% of the players who got us up. The gap was eliminated by buying a whole new first 11 plus a few others.

A whole new first 11 is a bit of a stretch. Hume, Ballard and Le Fee have been pretty much ever present (when available). Others from last season have also contributed.
 
Awful podcast this - I stopped listening years ago when it dawned on me they were 'banter' bellends with no real in depth knowledge of football or indeed football culture

I know they have contributed. We did buy 14 new players is my point. The team of last season was replaced on the whole.
