More journalists writing us off

As it stands I'm pretty confident we'd get relegated like. Defence isn't up to it and I'm not convinced we've got a striker who is going to bag enough.

I have faith that the club is making a good go of it though so we should be in a better position this time next month.
Exactly. Anyone can see the club is heading in the right direction so I’ve no concerns this players we need will arrive.

Latest being the football ramble, the mag on there couldn’t wait to have a pop. He doesn’t know where we’re going to get a point from 😂 smacks of a bunch of journalists who never poke their heads outside of the premier league bubble.

so losing at Celtic 4-0 and having a pop at us. All cos they have nothing else to say, Bieng Newcastle fans got bored and trying to find a way to get us.

These journalists are just full of hot air and write what they think the public want to hear. They'll be the same ones telling us over a year ago to vote Labour for a better Britain.

Not sure I care tbh
Not sure why anyone else would either

The way our club runs now confounds expectation including ours.

No one after the 16th placed season thought we would go up next season, not really, with a percieved rookie manager who hadn't managed in England before.

With a bunch of kids.

Let them snipe and carp, I'm here for whatever we do as we aren't going without a fight

No one had us being promoted last season, infact a good number had us down to be fighting relegation (this messageboard being a prime example) it’s a lazy and easy prediction having us to be relegated.

It’s up to us to prove everyone wrong.
Without a CF, 2 CHs and GK we will really struggle.
Good job we have a month and a half left to sign them then.

if it goes tits up I hope everyone will remember that the owners have given it a fair crack.

what it appears they have done is recognised that many of last seasons starters aren't at the level so they're trying to build a scratch Premier League side using Jobe + Watson plus one year's TV money . It's very ambitious, it goes against the accepted wisdom of "bank as much cash as possible and be a yo-yo" and I dont think it's ever been done before.

Yeah regardless what happens we've tried. Hope we dont get the usual if we dont do well

We're still favourites to go down. It's not surprising. It is a risk signing these youngsters with no premier league experience.

It might turn out really well, but equally, it might not. I'm more than happy to see us use this approach rather than signing the likes of Longstaff.
remember last season we all have doubt with the new manager.... its doesnt make any differences anyway, trust the process.

I genuinely hope you do - I'm a Villa fan. But I fear that you won't realise how much harder it is in the Prem since you were last up. That's why sides coming up are going straight back down, because even the worst in the Prem have players that can hurt you, and are a lot more athletic than in the Championship. Sides that stay up tend to be those that either have gained good momentum that has taken them up a couple of divisions, or have bought in good Prem quality to go with their team. I only saw you in bits last season and a little bit of the Cov game and whoever you played in the final. I don't think you have the quality to stay up but who knows. As I said I genuinely hope you do as you're a massive club - I've always argued the biggest in the NE, and should be in the top flight. I love going to games in Sunderland, and you have a great following. I also don't hate Newcastle but its funny how much the Sob on the Tyne flag triggered them, and they remain triggered to this day whenever we play them, so its funny to wind them up. To be honest though - we don't give a sh*te about them but there has always been a genuine admiration for Sunderland, a club with a history almost as rich as ours.

The team we last graced this league with were an embarrassment to us all. (Gibson’s shenanigans, certain players not wanting to put the effort in for us as thought they were above us).
Don’t think there will be many players in the starting line up against West Ham who played at Wembley so can’t really judge us going off that.
You don’t need to buy prem proved players to survive.
We’ve also got a maverick in our midfield not so dissimilar to the lad you had in yours who pretty much kept you lot up when you were promoted not so long ago.
Good luck this season, apart from when we play ya’s of course!

Im Confident we will have points in the first 3 games. Hopefully that will shut the f#####s up.

Is Pete Donaldaon the mag scoffing at us? I used to listen to a wrestling podcast he did, him & the other presenter were pretty woke BBC types who were often scathing of WWE's relationship with Saudi Arabia. Guessing he's not applied the same standards to football.
He’s regularly expressed how disappointed he is with the Newcastle ownership situation. Decent bloke.

It's not surprising and it's understandable. But don't forget by all models and predictions we were supposed to finish bottom half in the championship last year, I trust in this manager, squad and club to outperform expectations
