More erasing of history...

No. I just want us to retain historical greats to celebrate this country.

Really not sure how else I can state this. I assume the literacy levels on here are sufficient but then again, trying to convince those who are committed to disagreeing is my folly.
And I don't in respect of permanent presence on bank notes. The majority of people agree with me. You're in the minority. You lot, get over it. And while we're at it, this kind of attitude is the worst of British, not the best. It's not patriotism, it's weasly little selfishness that insists its own view prevails regardless of what other people want. That's not British.

Its the worst of British to celebrate achievement and greatness? Oh forget it. Beyond reason or hope.

We shall go on to the end, we shall fight in the RTG, we shall fight on the SMB and Politics Forum, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our Petty Boot Boy Fannyism, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the bank notes, we shall fight in the adverts with black people and ...

You're not advocating to celebrate achievement and greatness. You're advocating for one man to be on our bank notes for ever.

I mentioned several names.
Such as Alan Turing, a persecuted homosexual with an invaluable role in this country.
Florence Nightengale, a woman who spent lots of time abroad.
I'd happily see Johnson Beharry, a black man, on a current note.

Which is what I want.
So i'm really not sure what your beef is.
Nobody’s got a ‘beef’.

I know you don’t exactly ‘get’ this but people are taking the piss (not I hasten to add, ‘outraged’) because your thread title suggested that one of the fairly regular and routine amendments to the design of bank notes had ‘erased history’.

You surely can’t expect people not to mock that?

I mean even the people who think that Churchill was the greatest British person who ever existed are ripping the piss out of your apparent outrage.

Don’t you think taking a step back and maybe typing something like “aye, alright, maybe I was a bit over the top. What I meant to say was I don’t think they should remove important figures from the design of bank notes” might have been a better approach. Instead you’ve doubled down and started telling everybody else they’re being unreasonable.

It’s not working if you wanted them to start taking you seriously.

I’m (sort of) trying to be helpful here but I’m not anticipating a magnanimous response. I’m happy to be surprised.

My choice of words could always be disputed. I like to think though, mainly, I haven't returned the mocking and mild abuse.
The amount of people who don't think that this is an issue, which is fine, but are trying to ridicule me is both shocking and amusing.
Being taking seriously by strangers on here, isn't really a priority for me.
Best wishes to you.
