More erasing of history...

The British voted overwhelmingly to dump Churchill after the war. No one gave a feck about him back then.

Maybe we'll bring back the wren on the farthing?
Yeah he was absolutely given dogs abuse... think he crossed the aisle twice, definitely once and in Session I think.

He did, but mainly for pragmatic wartime reasons than any kind of morality or principle.

Churchill was a staunch believer in British Imperialism and most of what went with it.
Am not his biggest fan but he was unequivocally the right man at the right time. That last bit is the stuff I can't get away with. And the Dardanelles...

Your argument is all over the place

The historical figures get changed, so at some point 'removed'
Shakespeare was removed about 30 years ago & replaced by Faraday who in turn was replaced by Elgar a few years later. They were recognised by being on the note in the first place. We're now going to celebrate wildlife, then in 50 years they might change to landmarks.
Replaced but the theme remained. Historical greats.
Now the theme is changing and all of these greats are binned.
I take it you think Gandhi should be removed from Rupees and replaced with a flower?

If the Indians vote for that, then its upto them. I couldn't care less

Agreed. Man of the moment.

There's a reason he was binned after the war. Presumably 1940s Britain was suffering a serious bout of wokeness.

Ill bite.
Do you honestly think "wokeness" isn't a thing?

It wont happen though.
Im getting on of those notification attacks.
Insomniac or whoever.
Strange behaviour.

He loved Chemical weapons mixed with racism another favourite past time of his and remarkable as profane even for the time.
The Black and Tans, Sidney Street, gallipoli, whoring his politics for oil companies, the strikers and most damning of all Bengal.

He was a monster, an absolute monster, but in our darkest hours he was our much needed monster.
