What a f***ing stupid advert. Asking for the world, while basically pitching it at Grad/ very junior level (which is obviously a salary thing). Way of the world these days I think!Job advertised for the membership scheme this season

Issue with that is if its somebody like Liverpool who I guess would have 200/300k members you cant even do that, its basically a scam.
Spurs are masters at it, you'd see 100 South Korean flags every match, each one will have bought an official scrap, top, pencil case and the lot. Why try and keep john from London happy who will buy a shirt (if youre lucky) once a season and nothing else when you can have some random from South Korea each match who will spend £200 plus a stadium tour every week then £50 a season in membership fee's.
They've said "this summer"I've been involved in a couple of conversations where it's been mentioned, but it's not certain and there isn't really any flesh on the bones so to speak so I don't think it's something that they'd put into place any time soon. Would definitely warrant a fairly wide consultation
I agree, theres just much easier ways to raise funds than 'scams' like membership schemes for me. I know they arent really a scam but unless you get something worthy of the price it just feels a bit too dodgy. Comparing our match day revenue to Spurs whilst perfectly fine as we are in the same league is also a bit unfair as they have a stadium (built when debt was low) that has been designed to squeeze every single penny out of fans, whereas ours was built when you just wanted high numbers of average fans (price wise). If/when we extend it will be 70% down to corporate seating/hospitality and the additional (if any) standard tickets if we are still in the premier league will just go to match day sales not season tickets. As much as I like the stadium especially for the price we paid the best for SCR would be to knock it down and build a new one, the owner would have to stump up hundreds of millions though which makes it pointless for him.The fact is it's almost impossible to survive in the Premier League in the PSR/SCR era, if you're not maximising every revenue source available.
For the latest set of accounts, Spurs as the example you have used brought in almost £300m in match day revenue alone. Ours was £13m. Yes that was in the Championship but those figures are match day revenue alone, not broadcast revenue. That's what we're dealing with and competing against.
We all wanted to get promoted. This is the financial reality the decision-makers face if we want to stay here. The days of being able to do this without upsetting anyone are of a bygone era.
There isn’t really tho is there? There’s plenty of fans worldwide that would be up for a membership. Of course it has to be reasonable and worthwhile but people love being connected to SAFC.I agree, theres just much easier ways to raise funds than 'scams' like membership schemes for me
They have more bars/shops etc etc in one end than we have in the whole stadiumI agree, theres just much easier ways to raise funds than 'scams' like membership schemes for me. If it was reasonable and worthwhile then I fully agree, but I have yet to see a single one that is. Its just a cash grab by clubs because they know fans cant just change loyalty. Charging £50 for a chance to then purchase a ticket is a scam, they try and throw in other things like 10% off merch or the clubs TV channel as a perk but who is spending £500 in the club shop every year? There isn’t really tho is there? It’s a quick win and another revenue scheme.
Just cos you don’t like it doesn’t mean it’s a scam.
You can’t just ignore every revenue stream. You have diversify it.
You might as well say we’ll just change our strip every 2 year and let other teams bring in loads of money for a yearly release.
We have to be able to compete.
I suspect we’ll see more of this from the club if they’re serious on dining at the top table.
Cup strips, membership schemes, online packages and much more.
I know people don’t like it and preferably want us to stay a local club.
But we will never achieve anything and forever bob around bottom or the prem, top of the championship or even back to league one if that’s the case
Spurs don't get £300m in match day so I'm not sure where you got that number from as it's around £125m. We're probably pushing over £20m now because as you mention that £13m was from 2024/25 when in the Championship from an average of 40,000 with lower prices. We've got another price rise to go on for the 2026/27 books which along with Europa League will push us nearer £30m I reckon. The fact is it's almost impossible to survive in the Premier League in the PSR/SCR era, if you're not maximising every revenue source available.

I think the whole membership scheme, along with what Barwell said on the Footy Business youtube channel, tells me they want to use it to sell an safc experience abroad. I'd imagine, as well as ticketing priorities, there could be live video of matches and other exclusive media. There'll obviously be loads of shop sales, possibly discounted and maybe they'll even try and put holiday and ticket packages together. There isn’t really tho is there? Entirely office based I see... I can confirm that I'll not be coming out of retirement/hoying my hat into the ring if there's nee working from homeJob advertised for the membership scheme this season.
That’s outrageous take on what I said likeYour last point is just going crazy, having a membership scheme wont stop us being relegated, to raise £1m you need 20k people paying £50, I honestly dont think we will be relegated just because we havent raised £1m, like I said theres other ways to raise £1m, we could sell the stadium naming rights for starters.
How do Bournemouth manage? That’s outrageous take on what I said like![]()
Borderline nonsense. Straw man argument.
If SAFC are one of the lowest revenue earners in the PL then history will tell you we’ll probably come unstuck in the end.
Every single revenue stream needs to be used and we need to grow our global appeal. If not we’ll be left behind. A membership scheme is very small part of the overall strategy.
It’s that simple.
Its not nonsense though, I don't want us to stay local I want us to have fans around the world. I just don't want us to screw fans over for the sake of £1m which again is less than 0.5% of turnover. That’s outrageous take on what I said like
