Had a two year break

Aye he is genuine quality. Wish we had been in for him truth be told

Would have been unsure before he went there and with the benefit of hindsight wouldn't go for him then with Khazri performing as he did, but had we gotten him today I wouldn't be at all upset

Mainly a league one player most his career. Probably signed a 20k a week contract in championship in 2015.

Hell be getting 600k signing on fee and 40k wages no doubt

@Sima what is this lads problem?

Think he's a football chairman or something?

The mags think there signing him. I shit you not :lol:

Christ you have some nerve spouting shite tonight after this!!

Matt Ritchie caught the eye on TV often scampering down the right wing for Bournemouth in the Championship and providing lots of assists and goals. Sometimes, he seemed to be playing right back. It was a bit of a puzzle he did so well as he did not seem to have much pace or any special skills, not especially aggressive or good at crosses. I have not seen him live. What I didn't realise is that he is left footed, but he often crossed with his right. He or his agent must be quite bright if he got a contract at £55K a week for five years.

Other Championship clubs (except for Villa and Norwich) cannot expect to compete at those wages. We all know that Newcastle pay that sort of wedge, so it could very well be true. If the Championship had any good left backs (chronic shortage), I can't imagine he would not do so well.

I've never seen Dwight Gale play well. Presumably Benitez will play 4-2-3-1 (most Championship clubs play 4-4-2 although Boro played the same last season) with Gayle and Ritchie playing wide. Should be interesting.

Gayle was not happy whenever Pardew brought him on as a winger - I imagine he's stipulated he must be played up front.

Both Gayle and Ritchie know they will struggle to get a game in the Prem next year due to increased competition as clubs will be signing a higher calibre of player due to the money. Thats why they've ducked out.

I still cant find any official word that Ritchie has signed...oooops.ignore this.

He is a cracking signing at that level. However, We have much better than him. Looks like if/when they are promoted next season they will be stuck with championship players in the premiership. Like us under keane, Norwich, Burnley, Boro etc

Got a feeling Ritchie has gone there for one reason money ,just like Nolan went to West Ham when they were in the championship.
