The medical advice he's received over the years is certainly not good. It appears that there have been complications after every medical procedure he has undergone. The only lengthy uninjured spell he has enjoyed was after Mike Holding casually advised him to lengthen his run up.

His run was ludicrous for someone bowling 95mph like. A shame he didn’t change it in his late teens rather than late 20s.

English bowlers of great pace don't have their fitness managed well - that's an established fact. I'd have thought that, by definition, a strength and conditioning coach's responsibility was to build up the bowlers strength so he is in a condition to bowl. Whether that's by exercises,life style changes,or changes in bowling style is that coach 's remit. If he can't do it he's not fulfilling his remit. In this day and age we don't have the science to keep bowlers fit?
