He’s a disgrace. Like someone else said ya wouldn’t hear John Anderson saying he wants newcastle to get beat. Just another kick in the teeth to Sunderland. That macar was spot on with his email they read out on tonight’s show.
What did he say?

Is macar the blind sunderland lad that gets on a bit?

....macar supports 2 clubs aswel. Marco pointed that out.

Should be sacked as the Sunderland represenrative. He’s an arrogant prick.
Marco did say he's working for Rams TV tomorrow aswel like. I would never criticise him cos he's my hero but you need someone on that show who represents Sunderland 100% imo.

On air he said tonight that he was watching SAFC vs Derby about 10 years ago in a season when both got relegated.

That didn’t happen.

07/08 Derby soiled themselves by getting 11 points and we stayed up under Keane.

Stop smearing a club legend with lies. He actually said he was watching extended highlights of SAFC Vs Derby ten years ago

He can work for them mate. Got absolutely no problem with that. Just don’t sit on a radio show representing Sunderland and coming out with he hopes they get beat. It’s a disgrace.

Absolutely shit from Marco. Just say nothing, no need to to say he’d prefer the three points to go to Derby when we still have a mathematical chance to stay up. If we were gone then I guess it’s ok to say for once he wants safc to get beat. Under no circumstances as the Sunderland representative should he say that. No excuses, he should be sacked!! No respect for the fans.

Basically Macar wrote in via e mail and said he was very disappointed, with marco and wished him to apologise, to which Marco said, (I Will Not) then said am i not allowed an opinion, then said how as a player, he went on to play for two of the best clubs in country, and he has split loyalty and then pointed out Macar's Loyalty, and apparently the game vs derby the points of a win would be wasted on Sunderland and better off, with derby, thoughts on that.

He didn't say he "hopes we get beat' tho. He said if we win he can't see us staying up, so he would rather the points go to Derby for their play off chances.

If he apologises I would say fair enough given the goal at the tip but if he doesnt I agree he probably needs to go.

Macar was being a hypocrite.

I remember Macar being on the phone in last season or season before talking about our game that was coming up at the weekend. Presenter asked if he was going to our game? Macar " Unfortunately I'm not. I'm off to Hampden Park to watch the mighty Hibees in the Final"

A few seasons ago he said he wasn't at our home game because he was watching the mags away at Hull.Is he on Total Sport to give the programme a bit edge.

Marco’s right though - it doesn’t sound nice but he’s looking reality in the eye. Given that he also works as a representative for Derby as well it’s understandable his viewpoint. He’d be hammered by them if he’d said he wanted Sunderland to win. His sin here is being rational and honest. People have conflicts at interests at times - I can live with this one.

I do think there are many reasons to question whether Marco is appropriate for the job - not watching the games is the main one, the conflict of interest between his role as agent to our players/ the need for honest assessment. The fact that he talks over people and doesn’t listen, the fact that he works from his home studio rather than the BBC studios with the rest of them.

He usually gets criticised for being too positive - his crime here is being too honest. So many people trying desperately hard to be offended.

 Which he failed to do when he was defending Moyes, Short etc. He's sharp changed his tune now.
