 Which he failed to do when he was defending Moyes, Short etc. He's sharp changed his tune now.

This.
The arrogance of Marco around this time can not be overstated.
Actually went on for months on end.

Every week he would come out with the same lines,Supporters need to calm down take a step back, how Ellis and the club had everything under control.
Told callers they new nothing.
Turns out he was the one totally out of touch.
Bennett had more of an idea.

Lost all resemblence of respect for Marco as a pundit.

Marco’s right though - it doesn’t sound nice but he’s looking reality in the eye. Given that he also works as a representative for Derby as well it’s understandable his viewpoint. He’d be hammered by them if he’d said he wanted Sunderland to win. His sin here is being rational and honest. People have conflicts at interests at times - I can live with this one.

I do think there are many reasons to question whether Marco is appropriate for the job - not watching the games is the main one, the conflict of interest between his role as agent to our players/ the need for honest assessment. The fact that he talks over people and doesn’t listen, the fact that he works from his home studio rather than the BBC studios with the rest of them.

He usually gets criticised for being too positive - his crime here is being too honest. So many people trying desperately hard to be offended.
I actually think Marco speaks a lot of sense on Total Sport. However, as been said would John Anderson or plastic mag Howey say they wanted Newcastle to be beat. If they they did the jordis quite rightly would kick off.

Whatever Marco's connections are to Derby he is employed by Radio Newcastle to be our representative on that show and shouldnt have said it. Its a lack of respect to us as fans and at the current time that comment is just crass.

I loved Marco as a player and he gave me one of the best nights of my life but he needs to apologise or he should reaaly go.

You say that but it was very misguided of him. The logic was that we are down and Derby need the points more.

We won and are three points from safety. So clearly it was ludicrous to say he wanted us to lose on that basis.

Certainly if you take what pundits say seriously

TotalSports going to be very interesting next week, unless marco suddenly feels the need to go on a couple of weeks break again
