Strange you saying lack of effort because that's supposed to be one of his main strengths, closing down and harassing. It was a game that was obviously more or less written off by the owners and coaching staff and maybe he's ring rusty. I'll give him more than one game to judge his capabilities.Saying a player isn't trying, isn't really trying. It's an unprovable observation, unlike my remark.
Looked short of match fitness. RLB is always banging on about ‘connections’- knowing your team mates and the pattern of play. Will make a big difference when he has had more time getting to know the squad and they also learn how he plays best. That team was patched together so was always going to be disjointed. Still should have had enough quality to prevail though but.The lad looked like he has something about him.
When he bonds and gets fitter, he will blast the goals in.
It might not have been down to himStill can't believe he didn't take a penna. Cowardly from a striker.
And if there are other players who are better at pens?Still can't believe he didn't take a penna. Cowardly from a striker.
So not fully ominous?Obviously scored a good goal when he finally gave his marker the slip.
Before that goal he really struggled against a strong centre-half, virtually ominous in fact.
Gooch is not slow.Even then people need to temper themselves. He was up against Gooch, a third division painfully slow full back. Wilson always looked poor on the left in the championship.
Just looks like a sub at best to me.
I didn’t think he looked that bad tbh, he had absolutely no service and took his goal. First game new club new patched together team. Can see the potential there.Thought he took his goal well tbf.
Like Burstow must have had something?Looked slow and with a poor first touch. Could be just lack of fitness and match sharpness. He must have something about him to be signing for Chelsea so I'll just wait.
He missed loads pre season and last season tooDon’t think it’s a tough call tbh. Think Mayenda has enough credit in the bank and is much more of a threat. Missed one, albeit a sitter, and now peoples on his back
he was laid on the deck doing 'ive got cramp' leg stretches right after the final whistle.Still can't believe he didn't take a penna. Cowardly from a striker.
manager decision, not MarcStill can't believe he didn't take a penna. Cowardly from a striker.
Trying to not go too early tbf. Wasn't impressed at all but don't want to write him off too early.Like Burstow must have had something?
He missed loads pre season and last season too
Ominously soAnonymous
I think you've misunderstood my post.Strange you saying lack of effort because that's supposed to be one of his main strengths, closing down and harassing. And he scored!Good to see that this place has learned its lesson about writing players off after a single game.
Virtually at least.Ominously so
