Marc Guiu - Boomerang Transfer confirmed

Saying a player isn't trying, isn't really trying. It's an unprovable observation, unlike my remark.
Strange you saying lack of effort because that's supposed to be one of his main strengths, closing down and harassing. It was a game that was obviously more or less written off by the owners and coaching staff and maybe he's ring rusty. I'll give him more than one game to judge his capabilities.

The lad looked like he has something about him.

When he bonds and gets fitter, he will blast the goals in.
Looked short of match fitness. RLB is always banging on about ‘connections’- knowing your team mates and the pattern of play. Will make a big difference when he has had more time getting to know the squad and they also learn how he plays best. That team was patched together so was always going to be disjointed. Still should have had enough quality to prevail though but.

Obviously scored a good goal when he finally gave his marker the slip.
Before that goal he really struggled against a strong centre-half, virtually ominous in fact.

Looked slow and with a poor first touch. Could be just lack of fitness and match sharpness. He must have something about him to be signing for Chelsea so I'll just wait.
Like Burstow must have had something?
Don’t think it’s a tough call tbh. Think Mayenda has enough credit in the bank and is much more of a threat. Missed one, albeit a sitter, and now peoples on his back
He missed loads pre season and last season too

Still can't believe he didn't take a penna. Cowardly from a striker.
he was laid on the deck doing 'ive got cramp' leg stretches right after the final whistle.

whether that was genuine or because he didn't want to take a penna we'll never know but i can't imagine him not wanting to take on in that situation so maybe ill give him benefit of th doubt

I think you've misunderstood my post.
I was referring to the poster's lack of effort. Attributing rustiness and unfamiliarity with our system to laziness is a short sighted response.

Looks a long way off being a threat to premier league defences. Doesn't seem to have a lot to his game.....isn't quick, isn't particularly strong, doesn't link up play, doesn't make the ball stick when played up to him. Very raw, might come good later on through the season, like Welbeck did, but we really need a strong focal point now.
