How is he uncommitted?

And how is the agent greedy? If he gets a move to a top german side its a fantastic move for him and absolutely nothing to do with being greedy.

Please tell me you are joking? What the fuck is wrong with you?:lol:

Pretty sure you are on a windup here
When you ask someone to meet your requirements, those requirements are met, and then renege on that it could be called greedy along with many other unsavoury things.

Not really, if he goes to Germany its a fantastic move for him, Sunderland isn't the centre of the universe like. You think if O'Nien got the chance to go to a top 6 side in germany he wouldn't take it for example? People take these things far too personally.

You think spending 2 million quid is absolutely outrageous?:eek: WOW
I'm on a wind up? f***ing hell take a step back for 5 mins man and listen to yourself. Who the fuck spends 2/3 million pounds in a January window in league one?
When we've got a strong enough squad as it is btw.

Say we sold Maja now. 20 years old, 6 month left on contract and only scored goals in league 1. How much do people think we'd get? I've seen some say 3m, which I just can't see us getting anywhere near that. 1m max imo.

I find it hillarious that you try and compare out situation to the same as other league one clubs like f***ing Shrewsbury

i think you are on a wind up anyway

Rat ... the man went back on a promise. Unforgivable. I get pissed off when someone says they will go to the pub and know they have absolutely no intention of going .... this is unforgivable.

have no issue with Maja going to Germany. he'll be going to a league gaining a reputation for developing young British players and will earn probably at least double anything we could offer so fair play to him

the lack of compensation is a bit shite but nothing much we can do there. just got to hope he gives his all for the remainder of the season if this pans out

100% agree, get rid of him if he wont sign. This is going back to the dark days of when players ruined our club with us pandering to their every need.

Yes and I HAD TO PAY BACK MY TRAINING FEES!!!
Had a lot of 4 - 6 week training courses on Equipment and it's been pretty standard that if you do it you stick with the company for 2 years, or you have to pay, for the cost of the course (pro-rata) if you leave before the 2 years is up!

Is being the main reason we are in touch with the top 2 unforgivable as well?

Let’s try and cut the poor language out on the posts chaps not really needed to make your point

fair sorry

Didn’t you just say our owners didnt do enough to keep him, should have offered more money, could have done more to avoid this situation? Now you’re saying it’s a fantastic move for him which implies he was never staying in the first place. You aren’t being entirely consistent here. And just an observation, but you seem to be taking this far more personally than just about anyone else. Enjoy your day marra. I’ve got gutters to clean.

It may have been said already but what's disappointing for me here is that it appears we aren't going to be able to persuade him to stay with us. It feels small time. Not really the new owner's fault, nor is it Maja's - 4k fans through the gates or 40k, we are still a league one club.

It is also clear this is another example of the inadequacies of our previous regime, who should have been smart enough to build triggers in to his (and others') previous deals, protecting the club and allowing us the option to extend based on appearances/performances. Sadly we (they) were probably too busy trying to fight court cases so we didn't have to pay millions of pounds for players who don't even play for us (eg Alvarez).

They didn't offer him what he wanted till January, far too late.

No point saying out on this forum at the min, the owners are untouchable its mad.

So you wanted the new owners to give Maja 10k a week at the start of the season when he had done virtually nothing and with the owners also knowing that high earners in league one earn between 4/6k a week?

Negotiations have been going on for months and the club have no doubt offered him more as he's continued to impress but you don't simply just agree what is asked by an agent straight away without seeing some progress from the player and in the end we offered him what he wanted and that has shown not to be good enough....if anything, it's probably shown his agent has been looking to move him on for a while now and they've had no intention of signing a new contract.

We are another league one club, we deserve to be here and have to run the club like a league one club. Nobody spends that sort of money in this league
