Even then banking on increased attendances to pay for it is mental. What if attendances don't increase ?

They're already increasing ye complete knacka, landing a £2m striker and £1m Beast will blow the roof off, we'll need to start the Sooth Stand extension....

The owner hasn't said anything (up to now) that makes me think he's talking bullshit

The owner is doing what's best for Sunderland AFC not the player or worse still the agent... Maja and his agent have shit on the club.

I'm not saying he is. Just we're only ever publically hearing one side. I doubt it's all black and white. Maja has honoured his contract here so if he leaves at the end of that contract then fair enough

Any player who doesn't want a contract here should be shown the door as quickly as possible, but in Maja's case it could work to our advantage if we are after Shankland from Ayr.
Why? Well there could be a deal to be done here as Ayr will not let Shankland leave until the end of the season at the earliest, even if he is sold it's going to be part of any deal that he stays until the Summer...which is really no use for anyone.
Unless of course, we loan them Maja for 6 months? Both teams are going for promotion so the experience will be beneficial for both youngsters....and could make all parties involved very happy.

"Offer him want he wants "
Well, ask him what he wants. Personally I don't care if he goes, but if he wants an extra say£3k per week. £150k per year then we should give him that.(maybe more.....depending on the clubs top offer) That money can't replace him. If he says no then fair enough, he goes. Surely it's an open and shut case.

He has said no.

We did ask him what he wanted and he still didn’t sign.

That’s the point

Not at all, but if we got promoted I'd not want any of those three as starters. All 3 are replaceable at this level too.

Wellwe haven't replaced them this year like, the players we signed are worse the ones we had

It's not wise if they're beyond your means. We'll be cautious now, that's the way it is

Shouldn't be, not on about going in mountains of debt, but as said earlier in thread, if we don't invest now and go up, the long term financial implications are worse.

The team needs investment, no doubt about that

It needs investment what we can afford.
