SD said Josh was going to have afew days to decide so by the fact that we've heard nowt I am expecting us to be trying to flog him after Saturdays game seeing as it's the last of the month.
Exactly. He’s had a week now and apparently been “ill” on the day we have a match. He’s off, I think the club have accepted that but will have said we want a replacement in first and you’ll only be going for £X million

It's disappointing and despite JR's statement about him being ill I don't believe a word of it, especially if he's missing on Sat.
Good luck to him, I hope he chooses the right club to go to and doesn't end up at a nothing club like Villa, Cardiff or Palace

I think he’ll go to somebody thats just around the play offs-a team that needs extra firepower. Even then, I don’t think Maja is ready for that step up and would only score about 5 goals.

Agree completely. The lads has potential, but he's completely unproven in the Championship - that's not to say he can't make the step up, but he's still very young and raw. 100% believe he'd be better off having another couple of years here and continue his development. As it stands, I hope we get a decent wedge for him and insert a sell on clause.

I don't wish him good luck at all, he's shit on the club who's made him in the first place. He said he would sign and hasn't, if he had made it plain and clear from the start we could sold him by now and moved on..fuck him, I hope he rots...

Exactly this. Players these days don’t care, they just want dollar. Another couple of seasons here would do him the world of good (and us for goals and money you’d have thought). No team is going to sign a young kid from League 1 in hope to get them to the premier league, maybe keep them from being relegated to League 1...
If Maja is thinking premier league right now then you’ll never hear from him again until he goes to America in a few years time.

We've only heard Donald's side of the story though. Haven't heard Joshes or his agents.

Donald has only been at club in few months & so far had trouble publicly with Papys agent, Ndongs, McNairs, Asoros & now Majas. Also took issue with Mumba/Catts/Honeymans in pre season.

I’m philosophical about a sale. We can’t stop him rejecting offers and we also can’t stop him either signing a pre-contract now or leaving in the summer. There’s also the long term issue whereby kids and their parents know that at Sunderland AFC they get games and are allowed to move when they see fit. It’s our job to make sure we get the best possible fees but our academy has to be seen as a place that gives you opportunities without trying to punish you if you want to move on. That way we become one of the destinations of choice for the best kids.

What I would have issue with is looking constantly for cheap options or loans as replacements. There’s no reason why we can’t buy a player in the mould of Jack Marriot who is excelling at our level but also has the potential to get better and increase in value. I’d be disappointed if we bring in journeymen as replacements.

I might get stick for this, but this was such a good investment opportunity this year for anyone

league one is horrendous, we already have a lot of good players at the club, the old owners pays off the debts, allowing you to cut costs in every department, and minimal investment in the team

this is not a criticism, good luck to them, the PR and feel good factor has been great, but they aren't performing miracles, this was an unbelievable opportunity for any investor

I'm with Beady eyes.....This was a free hit, true we needed some stability and they couldn't really cut loose in the summer, so possible results have outperformed the Initial Investment.

But we should be blowing away the opp away 2nd half of the season, a beast in the middle and a decent striker, both for £2-3m wouldn't kill us...

A few 4-5-0 humpings at home and the Increased gates would pay for it.....

Agreed

And why do you think that ? If the agent knew the club wasn't 100% correct he would be shouting it from the root tops...

As I've said in my edited posts we've Donald has had publically had issues with a number of agents already. McNairs, African lads, Cattermole/Honeyman/Mumbas, Asoros.

Donald reckoned Honeyman would prefer to leave the club & then Jack Ross named him captain. There's another side of the story in these situations.

Those days of gambling are long gone. A £6m outlay in league one is massive and banking on increased gates to pay for it is absolutely mental.

Were you surprised we've had problems with Papy's agent, Ndong's agent and Margret Byrne mate? I know I wasn't.

The owner hasn't said anything (up to now) that makes me think he's talking bullshit

The owner is doing what's best for Sunderland AFC not the player or worse still the agent... Maja and his agent have shit on the club.
