ross msde it public not stewart..To be fair if the owner hadn't made the deadline public the story wouldn't be getting the attention it's had since.

What's happening then? He is staying, and we get a massively undermarket tribunal fee for him in the Summer? If it is true he wants out I'd sell him now....and try and bring someone else in. We need to start boxing clever in the transfer market....and this scenario needs to be an early reminder to the management of the club that we need to get better at buying and selling players going forwards if we are to have any chance of acheiving the steady progress we all want.
I expect you're already aware but Ed Aarons a journalist who is pretty reliable with Palace info, says our DoF is watching Maja on Saturday.
No disrespect but I guess we are now looking at comparatively cheaper options in our 'desparate' search for a striker with 2 working legs who can hit a barn door.
Selling your best goal scorer in the middle of a tight promotion battle isn’t remotely clever transfer business, it’s the complete opposite
I tend to agree with this.
If we sold him now (not saying we wouldn't score anymore goals for the year) but that puts a massive dent in our promotion battle. To be fair his price wouldn't justify the need to sell him this month anyway. Let's say we manage to jag 3mil for him which I think is inflated for a lad in league 1. How much less would we get if tribunal gets involved.... 1 ish. Fine that means that by keeping him and getting the goals we need to go up it cost us 2mil. I'm happy with that, we make more than that in TV rights by being up anyway.
I understand it's not the idea scenario but would rather have him than not. The only other way I could see it working is if we sell him now and get him back on loan for the rest of the year.
Trouble with this is there's the risk that we keep him and he ends up going abroad and we get next to nowt. Best option, if available, is probably to sell him now and loan him back for the season, the issue is whether that's an offer we'd get, and whether we think he'd be fully committed following a transfer
Id say 2nd best option is to risk him leaving for nowt at the end of season and help us get promoted this season. The club getting promoted is worth more in coin and opportunity than selling our top goalscorer imo

Even if he wants to go ?
"couple of days grace" has turned into four, days. I think he's going to re-sign because...can feel in me wata.
The £600 was mentioned as being his take home pay after all deductions. He was on £600 a week and we’ve offered him around £5k now from what’s been out around.
Championship clubs will be idiots and offer him £10k +
No matter what he’s told Donald, if he wanted to stay he’d have signed ages ago.
so he would have been on a more than agrand before decutions then? The £600 was mentioned as being his take home pay after all deductions.
