Up until this season he hasn't really deserved anymore. It was good to hear in the podcast that kids will now have it in their contract that the contract will extend and increase their wage if they make a number of first team appearances.

The problem is we have left the player and agent holding all the cards.

Should have been the same deal as Honeyman. Play X amounts of games and your contract is triggered.

This is what I thought when someone mentioned ‘7 times his current deal’ likelihood is he was on 1500 maximum which doesn’t make it a massive offer.

Fair play to him, it’s a shame for us but can understand it.

Personally I hope he goes abroad - Bundesliga maybe - and gets some good development.

;)

Not surprisingly. I found out he has been on less that a grand a week on old deal and even though he has been offered 700% increase, he will still get far more than that will a move away. Not to mention the incentives and other bonus.

It’s still Everton with the main interest

We'll end up with pennies if that happens.

His agent sounds like a right kernt. Well if he wants to go then fuck him, this club will survive without him.

Hopefully the club have learnt the lessons of the past and dont let him go until we've signed a replacement.

If we sell him to a premier league club it's quite possible that they would loan him back to us til the end of the season.
If that happened and we signed Grigg then I wouldn't be surprised if he spent most of the time on the bench. Think that Ross would prioritise other players ahead of him.

He's been offered what he wanted. The club have done nowt wrong in that sense.
So the club say. Not saying it isnt true but we shouldnt blindly believe anything the club say.

I suspect truth of it is he csn get double what we would pay elsewhere

If he goes now fuck him, don't care about his development at all.

If he stays and gets us promoted and has a real go at the championship with us, then I will wish him all the best.

Don't blame him wanting the money to make a better life for himself and family.
