What an absolute fucked up situation this is. If you believe the statements, Maja told Ross yesterday he wants to sign, 24 hours later his agent tells sky he wants to leave.

Lad needs to grow a pair and tell his agent to fuck himself, or act like an adult and be honest with the club.

Cannot start tomorrow IMO.
I want him to play like but could he destabilize the lads. We get beat and there will be chaos on here..

we offered the amount in wages maja wanted...money isnt the issue. simple. what we cant offer is premier league football.
Aey - that’s what his agent indicated he wanted
I’m just replying to the poster that suggests which shouldn’t have offered him a better deal

Well unfortunately if you want to hold onto talent you have to offer decent wages - fact of life
If you’d rather the players be on peanuts you deserve to be watching monkeys
Are you that ignorant to the size of our wage bill and the debt levels of the last few years? We need to cut our cloth appropriately and if that means we don’t pay over the odds for players then so be it. The unfortunate side effect is we’ll lose one or two good prospect but if that’s at the expense of long term stability I can live with that.

I think it's definitely worth clubs spending some time in the classroom with academy kids teaching them about the world with regards to football agents.

Most are young lads who aren't the sharpest tools in the shed, who will be easily led by cynical tactics from savvy agents to line their own pockets. Ultimately it's often short term gain for an ultimately compromised career.

I wonder if him telling Ross he wants to stay and today's events are linked. If that's got back to the agent he might be worried SAFC have talked him into signing as he would lose out on a slice of the fee/signing on fee.

Call Sky Sports, announce he won't be signing, rock the boat with SAFC and try to get other clubs to bid. Given how Asoro's agent went on I wouldn't put it past them.

There is compensation, but it's based on UEFA guidelines, rather than an FA tribunal. Fulham only got £500k when Dembele went to Celtic. Given their comparativer stages of development, we'd probably be looking at substantially less if he moves abroad.
That would be a nightmare like. God knows what will happen.

Without a doubt. Would love to be a fly on the wall for that conversation. However, good luck to the lad for the future. He has done well so far this season. Everyone of them can be replaced though, so no tears shed here. It's a test for the manager, but have every confidence in him. Might work out better for us; bring in a player that can step up to the Championship without any question marks.

Me too, ironically I posted this, this morning

An that’s before all of the drama began :)

Yep good luck to him, I hope poor/wrong choices don’t have a negative impact on his career. My view remains he should have signed a new contract, continued to develop and he’d have got his big move anyway. It’s a gamble, because if he takes his big move now, it fails and he falls down the leagues, he won’t play in front of crowds like ours in League 1 again.
