He could get injured between now and the contract ending. No physio, no wages.
He could discover that there aren't any better offers, come June and that the grass isn't greener.
He'll have less cash in his pocket, between now and June... if the rumours of him being on a low figure are true, he would stand to lose out on anywhere between £10 and £60k, plus a signing on fee.
Image rights may be compromised, as may sponsorship deals.
Fans might turn against him resulting in a loss of form, reducing his value / attraction, come the Summer.
He might stop giving a toss, as he's got no buy-in to the club (see above).

I'm sure that there are loads of other ways in which not signing will have a negative impact, but, there's a bunch to be going on with.

His agent.

I’m sure that’s all been discussed...but IMO, Maja is in position of holding all the cards. Not signing favors Maja, not SAFC.

I wish Donald wouldn’t do this. Has he not learnt from previous? It makes life very difficult for the manager, the player and the supporters. It creates division where division isn’t helpful. He already did something similar in the summer with Cattermole and he stayed on and has been fully committed.

If he wants to be transparent, he should tell us his version of events at the end of the saga, not while it is still ongoing. I don’t doubt for a second that agents will be pissing about but that’s the game and he needs to deal with it.

So he wants to stay, we offered what agent has asked for, but agent has told him not to sign. Surely the player needs to tell his agent what he wants and not what the agent wants. Worrying.
'''worrying"

Hope you packed a fresh pair of pants in ya handbag ya blurt

Not sure Donald should be publicly throwing his agent under bus. Also not sure why we're playing this out in the media & this deadline really hasn't worked on our favour.

Poorly handled
well if stewart doesnt comment you only get the media version of events..sky called him remember...and the mnedia version of eventsa is driven by the agent..so you would only herar what the agent wants..

It's not good business sense for him to sign. The longer holds off the more money he will be able to get

Why shouldn’t he be publicly showing a wanker agent up for exactly what they are?

Because it's going to come back on Maja the same way people were booing Cattermole at Hartlepool after Donald came out and slagged his agent off. Honeyman also got it in the neck.

Donald coming out and publicly talking about this stuff is a bad move on all counts. They're turning the situation into a circus when we need to be focusing on the pitch.

The deadline was a f***ing stupid idea and has backfired massively as expected.
First major mistake from SD and CM this I think.
