That evidence isn’t always available. We can’t currently fact check every single statement he’s made.

Yes we can. He's been so transparent on everything he's done or is doing.

This club is a million miles away from where it was (off the pitch) a year ago with the access to the owner and where he sees us going.

Good call, Agents have too much power because clubs allow them to. Players to pay agents out of their salaries as a percentage. Removes some of the power.

Should be a 50/50 split so players and agents do not hold clubs to ransom. If you look at most working men's wages a player on £2000.00 a week even is a lot more than a lot of supporters.

Yes, but they have short careers, but think about it no jobs for life now. They get a bloody good income and deserve it for entertainment. But it not as if they are saving lives.

Good idea in theory but in practice players would just ask for more money to cover what goes to an agent anyway.

Well that’s 2 hours of my life reading that I’ll never get back
What I’ve taken from the thread... there’s a few posters with very weird agendas on this board.
There’s s lot of posters who either don’t work or spend their entire time posting on here.
Lots of posters convinced Margaret Byrne is his agent. She isn’t!
I like the transparency from Donald. It’s refreshing. If he was offered what he asked for and is now refusing to sign, I’d rather we got rid.
He’s 20 years old. He knows what he’s doing. He’s another greedy little shit who should take a step back and evaluate what he has.

£750 a week currently and offered about £5k which is an average league one wage which I don’t think is that attractive. However, if that’s what agent initially asked for and if that’s what they’ve offered then it’s poor from Maja and / or his people and the club aren’t to blame.

That said, I still don’t the upper echelons have handled this well in the slightest.
£5k a week is way above average for this division.

Aye shoulda let it drag onto the end of Jan eh?

If it was him hiding behind his agent I don’t know why he would be motivated to go to Ross and say he wants to sign. Surely he would just say nowt at all?

that is a common sense approach. so to think about logic. maja in his own mind wanted to stay. Otherwise why would he ask to speak to the manger and tell him.

Maja then gets home and tells his agent what he has said.

For agent to his bigger cut, he has to force through the deal to elsewhere

He cant ask his player to retract. He would have to go face to face with SD to tell him, but he is then in line for some serious questions and the agent will look untrustworthy and lose face.

so agent phones up tv company and gets the tv company to break news to SD. SD responds and agent then has a go (I am lead to believe as I have not seen what he actually said) at SD, trying to make SD look like the baddie. This also ties the players hand and he now has to go along with it.

before anybody thinks that is far fetched, think back to the Bridges and Johnston transfer saga of 20 years

Well at least we know now Maja couldn’t give a toss about SAFC and is playing us for his own personal gain. That’s his prerogative, fair enough, but I don’t want to see him line up for us again.
Your kidding yourself if you think any player gives a toss about Sunderland or any club. They are like dogs who will go to whoever will feed them the most.

Sky sports reckon even with a 700% pay rise he would still be on less than £10k a week which would be peanuts for any premier league club to pay
If the club have offered him anywhere near 10k a week, unless that’s dependant on promotion, I’m glad he’s turned it down! We need to be sustainable and learn the lessons of the past god knows how many years rather than paying more than we can afford.

If he plays and scores tomorrow, how will fans react to his celebrations. He usually stands with his hands on his hips look at me type of thing.

True, but if I was earning £1m per year and had to give an agent half, I’d want to know exactly what he done to earn half of my salary and would probably be looking for a cheaper one, or just use the PFA for negotiating.

Spot on, but I don't think Donald is without fault with his first tweet - shown with a bit of backtracking in placing the blame at the agent's door and saying we should back Maja with his second.

Just got a message that his Nigerian agent is the fella responsible for this deal....

.... seems quite a few similarities ? Be a reet pisser if he goes abroad and we get nowt, what's the point of being in the E f***ing U !?
