If there was already a surplus there than surely that'll mean there's an extra 2.5 mill than can now be invested into the playing squad?

I know, highly unlikely.

I'd just wish they'd say we aint planning on spending, we are selling players to pay off debts. As it what is happening. Which is fine if that is what you wanna do, but don't try and PR spin it.

Haven’t seen the RR post. I’m not saying it is covered. I’m saying he has said it is covered. I’ve no idea if it is or not and I doubt anyone on here does.

Well we have to believe him, just saying its a contradictory statement to what they said on RR like

I'm a little bit disappointed that the Maja money won't go into the transfer kitty but I can see the reason why. We still have to pay of transfer fees. At least any outstanding money that we owe Bordeaux is gone at it's one less debt.

I still think Donald's job is to clear any debts, make us sufficient, financial stable and get us back into the Championship challenging for promotion. If he does that I think Sartori will buy Donald's share.
Its going to take quite a bit of money to get us to that stage

Had no option as he’d refused to play Man you nugget, don’t let the facts get in the way though! He walked out on Tuesday and cleared his locker! Best get something rather than a few hundred grand in a tribunal

I never said anything about that, you've missed my point

They said they had it covered, then put out a statement via RR saying we don't get a fee, so that is not "having it covered" thats selling a player to settle a debt

I am not on about Maja, it could have been any player, Matthews or anyone. Don't twist my point please.

Sd twitter

They are keeping some of it as we owe then money for July. It won't affect are ability to do deals over the next few days. Just means we have fewer legacy payments to make in July now but we did have those covered anyway.

They sold a player because he insisted on leaving.
They are also accruing funds to cover the legacy payments of which there will be a surplus.

I am not interested in if he wanted to leave, could have been any player mate.

The 2 points they made just massively contradict each other, thats by definition.

Exactly. If the money was already put aside for this then it's a non story.

So, why is it even coming out as a story?????

It can only be dampening expectations that we would spend money on Grigg and then spend the Maja money on someone else

Thats all it can be really like.

Why do we owe them for July

fuck knows, what happened to the 8 million we sold him for?

It is covered but selling him to them has basically just paid that bit early. The money that would have been used to pay that fee in July is now freed up.

What's not to understand? Take a breath and think about it. You're jumping from post to post missing the obvious.

All these salty Sunderland fans, have you seen the amount of young English talents moving to top foreign leagues and succeeding, just because he’s not wasting his career at your club

Yeah that's the thing as some of these won't make the grade to push on next year and can't panic but now cost a fortune and not make the grade in the champ I'd be happy with 2 loan strikers and asses come the summer

bye hun enjoy the bench x

Tricky one in terms of incomings, need to get out of this league but how many that can make the step up to championship will join at this stage? If we could get Grigg and a good loan striker in Id be happy, it'd save some money for a good champ level striker in summer if we go up

Debatable if Sunderland will get the playoffs now given how shit Charlie Wyke is. He’ll 100% be doing better.

Mehhh, He scored a lot of goals but let’s be honest me nan could of scored most of those goals, just need to replace him with someone now

I am not, just changes by the day

What happened tothe 8 mill we got for Khazri then? genuine question

8 mill for khazri, 5 for McNair, 2.5 for Asoro. Legacy payment for PVA. Seems to be a black hole at SAFC!

Lens & Borini also left on a permanent

Spunk cash on ridiculous long contracts to hopeless players = BAD! SMB NOT HAPPY

Run a football club astutely whilst clearing up mistakes made by the previous regime = BAD! SMB NOT HAPPY

Eh?

Basically selling Short's players to settle debts like

Short is essentially still paying off all existing debts! Poor fella.

Well that cleared up all of our questions about the transfer budget. ;)
