Mags selling their stadium to themselves

Wetherspoons has done a breakdown on twitter. But aye they’ve done it to basically avoid a breach. Without it the would have booked a 90 odd million loss. Now they’ve swung into profit 😂 it’s not sustainable like. They can only do that once
Sounds like a knee jerk desperate lurch to keep themselves in the black this year.

As you say, can only do it once.

Stinks of terrible and disinterested financial management.

Would have breached PSR without it.

Saudis also starting to pull the plug on spending on various sports.

All of this in the aftermath of a second derby defeat this season at the hands of their newly promoted rivals, after Newcastle have spent close to a billion quid in the time we've been away from the PL.

Qualifying for the europa league or conference will probably cost them money this season ,expect a few dodgy results incoming

It reduces their spending limit from 85% to 70%.

Seems a mad rule like but aye, they're probably better off out of it this season all told as they won't make CL.

It’s funny as fuck. But in some ways it’s depressing. They’ve got the biggest revenues outside the top 6. They’re gaming ground on spurs but they’re still miles off being a sustainable concern. Football is just fucked
They haven't exactly gone about in a smart way though. They spent huge amounts of money on players with very little resale value and then also refuse to sell them (see Isak) then panic and buy more players with not much value/not good enough. If they were more patient and slowly built up by buying and selling talent then they'd be in a much better position. But they've been absolutely mugged off from everyone including their own recruitment team
