Meyler was more box to box, plenty of energy but not a great footballer. He was never going to be anything but a squad player in the top flight.

Once had a mag at work ask me who Sunderland fans preferred out of Rangers or Celtic. It transpired that he wanted there to be some Sunderland/Celtic link because he claimed the Mags and Rangers had some big connection. All very bizarre.

He might as well have asked me if we preferred Galatasaray or Fenerbahce, who gives a fuck?

There was a brief moment I thought Fredgaard was mint (? Chelsea away). He was bombing up the wing and it took a little while for our hash cookie addled brains to realise he'd left the chuffing ball behind.

I thought Kevin Kilbane was a brilliant signing… and the day we signed Gareth hall I thought we’d done great to tempt him away from Chelsea, didn’t know much about him but he played for Chelsea so he must be good right ?
