Think that 400 is asking too much but we shall see. 14 overs to get as many runs as we can for the batting points.

Great start so far. Pleased.

It's April 13th in England and been raining for 27 months straight. Not quite sure what scores people are expecting?
This. As we all know notoriously tricky batting wickets early April except Taunton of course where we would be 897 for 1 by now.

No harm in a flat batting wicket

Compton got loads of stick for making runs on a flat track, the point is that most pitches around the world are flat. You don't really need players who can score on pitches that do a lot in April with the ball swinging, because they are conditions that are rarely replicated anywhere in the world.

See off the first 5 or 6 overs this morning, and if these two are still at the crease, let them open their shoulders and have a bit of fun and see how many batting points we can get.

Of course, we could also collapse and be 300a.o. But I fancy our attack to defend 300 on any pitch in county cricket, certainly against this Northants team.

A word of warning to those looking forward to listening to today's commentary

Lizzie has just been all over twitter announcing that she back on the radio with Marty again today. I'm tempted to just check the score card rather than listen to her stating the obvious pointless drivel

I might take to twitter to tell her she's shite. Stupid slag.

Reckon the lads should just hoy the bat at it now. Reckon their bowlers will be tiring and a quick 30/40 could batter their heads a bit. Ideally I reckon we want to be bowling an hour or so after lunch.
