LVCC D1 - Durham v Yorkshire

I'd agree.

The best fourth innings score I can think of in recent times to win a match against Durham at CLS was Sussex a couple of years ago; circa 300.

Durham batted really well today, I didnt think this sort of score was on at all and I was pleased too see Rocky and Jennings get in amongst the runs. Hopefully that will boots their confidence.

Should be a good final day tomorrow.

Yorkshire knocked 300 off in 72 overs to win in 2010 at the Riverside.

Rudolph got 100.

That's hardly the point. They shouldn't have been given the remotest chance. If we've knocked up 275 for 4 in ¾ of a day that could be chicken feed if they get going.

So be it. I will still support colly's chase of 12 points for the expense of 3

What was the point?

Depends how much of a long shot it is really. Despite the odd big win gamblers always lose in the long run.

What was the point?
Yorkshire wouldn't deserve it. 60 behind on 1st innings and only taking 14 wickets in the match. Who's played all the cricket? Why waste all the effort? Wins and losses count as tiebreakers at the end of the season too.

Few of the Yorkshire lads out in Durham tonight. No prizes for guessing who's the ring leader!!
Have they seen a weather forecast?

If yorks score 336 to win this they thoroughly deserve it

I agree with this too, if a team scores 300+ on Day 4, Innings 4, then you've got to hold your hands up. What Colly has done is excellent IMO, go for 16 points at the expense of losing 3.

We could have batted for another hour or so today but that would mean they'd need 400 or so in about 70-80 overs and it would just become one big blockathon. Atleast this way it puts the thought in their head to play some proper cricket shots, giving more chance of edges and the like. We'll also get the chance of over twenty overs with a second new ball (if it doesn't rain and if needed).

Sun is out in DH7 now, I'm hoping the rain is just a morning thing which doesn't hinder play and which gives a nice bit of moisture to the pitch to assist our seamers!

Ha'way Durham!

Two sessions would be enough for Yorks to win the game if they went for it and didn't lose wkts in batches, whereas Durham might need three sessions if Yorks decide to put the wood up. Once again, the first hours play could be vital in deciding how this game turns out.

150 runs per session and 5 an over in these conditions?

The sun is forecast from lunchtime on and we've already seen how flat this wicket is when the suns out.

As I said, IF Yorks decide to go for it, after all they've only got 3 points to lose as well, and IF they have wkts in hand, it's a getable score.

A lot will decide if the opening hour's play will suit our bowlers more than it will their batters.

:?:

Cracking lad. Batted and bowled well in this game. I was talking with his Mam and Dad yesterday who are up watching the game. Lovely people.

Is there anyone on the County scene you don't know?!
