Joyce the chef who the club have done a few articles about and featured on STID broke her leg a couple of years ago and Luke went round hers almost every other day just to bring her shopping and other bits and bobs

I know this as a fact as I know her son pretty well.

When I asked her son why Luke was doing it and not him he said it’s because he lives in Middlesbrough

Just shows the character of Luke O’Nien really and not many footballers would do stuff like that.

Great story, is Joyce still around the club? She was actually the character I was most interested in STID, such a genuine lovely person.

Not a chance. RLB wouldn't do something that sentimental in a game like that - he thinks Luke has something to offer the team, and perhaps more importantly, the squad.

Said it yesterday, I think RLB will be bringing on O'nien , Rigg, possibly Neil and Mayenda, deffo geertruida in the next few games to get them into the swing of things for when they are needed . He can do it at his own pace right now, rather than be forced into it during Afcon
